If I wanted to make my car identical on both sides to the millimeter and have the most perfect curves, I would, but I dont have the money to do so like the multi billion dollar companies that spend multiples of millions of dollars in research and development. Im going to cut the kit right where the original hood opens which would be along the top of the headlights and to the sides.

It doesnt have to be proportional to the original, there is no rule in design for it to. You can see the new 370z is designed to resemble the older Zeds but is not the same in proportions.

I have more pictures in my album and for chassis cutting, no, all one has to do is cut into the fenders for the headlights to move over and this can be achieved with a simple hacksaw but its hard work.

throw up your donor car and the design you like and Ill see what you can do.

You changed your premise from "new car" to "new car design". THAT is just sidestepping it now.

And for the cupcake analogy, it might be a "new design" but it's still a goddamn cupcake, much like how Veilside's NSX is a new design, but it is STILL an NSX. You're passing off anything having to do with a redesign as a "new car", when in reality it is still the same car mechanically. And your "elitist 'designer'" attitude may be your ambition, but others see it as hostility because you're telling others that you're absolutely better than them just because you're designing a new bodykit and that they should shut up. That is NOT the way to gauge interest if you think you're above your possible consumers, especially considering that they may be more educated about cars than you think. Those people have better things to do like building up their car internally, rather than playing armchair tuner and attempting to use computer programs to speculate how much power they can get out of "x" part, while their car sits in the driveway with cardboard mockups of where a manifold or wastegate can fit in the engine bay, or using paper towel tubes to see how swaybars can fit under the car.

working with fiberglass is so itchy
avoid at all cost

And toxic in so many ways. One lethal part which users dont know much about is when in the process of cutting it (cloth is less then mat), thousands of glass particles fly everywhere in the air.
[For example, crack crusty bread under a spot light, the same is seen with fiberglass but the air is sparkling.]
So if you dont have a respirator (I also wear full goggles), you will breath in the glass and it will in-bed into your lungs and eventually cause cancer on top of constantly puncturing your air sacks causing fucked up shit. It will not be cleaned out easily like other particles.


The "industry" (government) will not tell you these things because it feeds on profits.

Of course the smell is very, very, toxic which can cause organ failure and brain damage among all things... Oh it can also leak into your skin if your using thin gloves.

lastly I would never sand fiberglass even with a bio suit (can be made out of garbage bags) in my backyard (it will contaminate your property and your neighbours environment) . Only a special room made for it should be used where industrial fans and a shop vac funnel everything into a wet filter.




Im going to do a few layers of plaster (also cancerous) on top of the mold and hand sand it smooth then glass it again. If needed, Ill have a professional sand the glass.

and your 300 does not have the same attributes as a 280z, again unless you plan on cutting up the chassis, i hope you reenforce it that something better than fiberglass and paper mache
