Question, i am trying to apply for some part-time courses for a certificate program. I registered for 2 courses last week, but I couldn't process the payment on time.

I realized today that I cannot re-register for the courses as it was dropped due to delayed payment... Is there any way to be registered again in those two courses?

Fappin 12-26-2012 02:40 PM

^Gotta call the registration office or go to BCIT directly so they can put you back into those courses. But you'll have to pay up front right away.

Yeah it was rough getting up for class today :(

Harryt 01-02-2013 06:37 PM

So my first day at BCIT. I'm new there..

Kinda scary, because normally any school I've gone to I always new someone there. BCIT I don't know anyone, so I gotta find my way around.

Do people here join a lot of clubs to meet new people?

dlo 01-02-2013 06:50 PM

I'm doing forensics, just taking classes right now. Haven't gotten in yet, because I am applying later and would've have to wait. But was suggested to save time and take classes now and I've met all the requirements as the program head said... So I gotta get my forms ready for Monday to officially apply to the program. But I shouldn't have a problem getting in...

but yeah my 1st semester at BCIT. Kinda getting used to all the NE, SE, SW, NW buildings haha. It was dead today, I just came to get my student ID. My classes officially start next week, though my online class started today.

cowncow 01-02-2013 08:03 PM

Waddup

Just started today in lvl 2 accounting program. Am I in a class of 30 for the rest of the year or is everyone else in my giant 100+ securities course also in the accounting program?

Loving the 9 hour Monday's :)

dlo 01-02-2013 08:39 PM

You will be with those 30 for labs and 100+ for lectures lol, and nice harryt, you should be okay, when you have lectures there will probably be announcements of clubs you can join, see whichever one suits you and join em! I didn't join any but I did get to bond with my classmates!

Thanks. I guess I'll see on Monday when my class starts.
Hopefully I can meet new people and make some new friends in class.

BTW have you taken any Liberal Arts class? Guess it's mandatory to take 7001? I'm taking it and 7007 as well. Hoping they are not too hard?

Also how does the participation marks work for these classes? All it says is show up for all your classes and ask questions etc..

dlo 01-02-2013 09:38 PM

im in the marketing program so i cant help you at all, most programs courses are set in stone and you cannot avoid em haha unless ur thing is different? you'll make friends FOR SURE, everyone is def more mature and more approachable than in highschool haha connect via facebook!

nabs 01-02-2013 09:40 PM

awesome stuff! Hope stuff is going well for yeah.

And yeah my classes are set in stone for the most part. We do have options for electives, but I've already chosen them all.

I gotta say I am I bit pumped for my classes haha.. I had a terrible last year.. lost a few close people that meant a lot to me. So looking for a rebound year here.

BTW what are the chances of running into people at BCIT? It doesn't seem that big though the buildings are kinda scattered everywhere? Is there set buildings for most classes or programs?

monoexcel 01-02-2013 10:52 PM

Hey,
Anyone in the Marketing diplomas? I'll be applying for the professional sales one straight out of highschool.
Just any info or tips you have
courseload, working with sets, easy or hard classes etc.

Also how is the math first year? Did highschool math help ?

dlo 01-02-2013 11:01 PM

If you are good with math 11 you should be good, I just finished my first semester and achieved a 76 average while barely passin any of my hs courses :lol stay motivated and keep track of ur progress, 7 courses in 20 weeks is hetic but you'll pull thru, ORGB, and BSYS is GPA booster, actually learn ur shit for marketing/econ/math/accounting, good choice of professional sales, I'm deciding whether or not to change my 2nd year option to that lol
