Why did they search your car? Were you bringing something back without declaring it?

No, only went down for gas. They seemed shocked when I told them I was from Vancouver and only came for gas.

I got 4 rims and 4 tires recently and that costed me $34 USD, and they can also accept Canadian.

What's the gas price down there lately?

CP.AR 01-21-2011 08:48 PM

0.94, 0.96, 0.98 respectively for the three grades at Texaco.

The cheaper gas stations ie: "Can-Am" has Regular at 0.90/L

Damn the prices are cheapo... but Sumas border.... that's kinda far for some people lol

PiuYi 01-22-2011 12:00 AM

^is chevron gas more expensive? whats the difference? i usually just go chevron when i'm down there cuz thats where i usually go up here

CP.AR 01-22-2011 12:52 AM

I go to Texaco - which uses Chevron gas (since texaco is owned by Chevron), hell it's even got the "with Techron" label on their pumps!

The "pricyness" of the the 3 big stations are as follows (from most to least)
Shell -> Chevron -> Texaco.

I think it has to do with their location more than anything though... Shell is the closest to the border while Texaco is the furthest.

ForbiddenX 01-22-2011 12:53 AM

Isn't texaco right across tsb?

I'm going to be heading down there next week to get some packages but I usually always use Chevron gas. Didn't know it was the same as Texaco. I'll fill up with Texaco this time.

How are the line ups during the weekdays? Like tuesday morning? I wanna head down there before class.

cho 01-22-2011 01:06 AM

Weekday mornings usually no one, dont go on sat, last time I went about 44 min wait
Posted via RS Mobile

RevRav 01-22-2011 01:49 AM

Since heading down to Point Robert or Blaine to pick up a
packaging is almost the same distance from Lower Mainland.
Have anyone notice which location's gas are generally cheaper?

It really depends, going in will take like 5 to 10 minutes.

BUT, coming back into Canada varies through out lunch time.

CP.AR 01-22-2011 01:30 PM

Went down this morning at 12:00. Even with nexus, I waited a.good 15 minutes to get into the states. Coming back thigh the nexus line was empty since they were just waving cars by. (regular line has probably a 30 minute line)

ForbiddenX 01-25-2011 11:04 AM

Went this morning and the line going there was about 5mins coming back was less than that but the border guard was a bitch.

Gas price was 94c/L for regular at texaco

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-25-2011 11:11 AM

PiuYi 01-25-2011 12:27 PM

Plus 98.9
V-Power 101.9

keifun 02-02-2011 09:09 PM

not Pt. Roberts, but went to the Shell @ Blaine today while picking up some parts at Hagens.

Shell 92 V-Power $3.539/gallon X 1/3.78541L ---> $0.934c/L

Fappin 02-02-2011 09:18 PM

Went to PR today. 92 at Shell was at 101.9

murd0c 02-02-2011 09:28 PM

Ok I have a question. Since Point Roberts is the US why do they sell gas in liters? I never thought of that until now.

shenmecar 02-02-2011 10:58 PM

To make it easier for the 99% of their visitors who are Canadian. Thats the only reason I could think of.

Fappin 02-03-2011 06:09 AM

They advertise the prices in $/L but the pumps go by $/Gallon at least for Shell anyway.
