+1 I actually asked the lady at texaco. She said it was easier for people to compare prices with canada that way

anyone know the quality of gas at the can-am station?

I usually go to chevron or shell but today gas prices there were 103.9 compared to 96.9 at Can-Am..... stuck with v-power anyway, but might hav to consider that next time

Ch28 03-04-2011 12:10 PM

Figured I'd bump this since gas price is @ 1.31 today

Chevron & Shell in PR was at 0.99/L a few days ago. The Can-Am (first one after Letter Carrier) was $0.95

beatdownvictim 03-04-2011 12:18 PM

98.9 at can am today

baggdis300 03-04-2011 05:32 PM

i usually am able to get two tanks out of the same amount of $$ that gets me one here..

atleast tat was the case in my is300

id fill up 15 gallons, then fill two 25 L jerry cans, 70-80$ max. 91 octane at shell

that would JUST last me a week... lol i drove way to much(600+miles/week)

it also helped that i have a town home in blaine...

Euro7r 03-04-2011 06:56 PM

:fuuuuu: @ the current gas prices in the lower mainland. Gonna have to go to Point Roberts to fill up gas from now on.

Rogue951 03-04-2011 10:25 PM

I was there at 1130 it was only 0.98 I think? at the can am. definitely not over a dollar.
changes fast.

shenmecar 03-04-2011 10:44 PM

^

can am is always about 8 cents cheaper than shell/chevron.

E-40six 03-04-2011 10:51 PM

I need to save some money, my fuel bill is reaching $700 a month

nickmak 03-04-2011 10:53 PM

AutozamAZ-3 03-04-2011 11:07 PM

are prices much cheaper than superstores or costco?

PiuYi 03-05-2011 12:06 AM

not by a significant amount, definitely not worth going down just for groceries if you dont live in twwassen

however, you can get food they dont sell in canada (ie. dreyers ice cream)

jpoon 03-05-2011 12:24 AM

not really, their prices are pretty much the same as our local gas stations. You could always go to Husky - they have great quality gas! and cheaper than most places ;)

I live in Vancouver, is it worth the time for me to drive all the way to point roberts just for gas?

Nlkko 03-05-2011 12:43 AM

It'd take forever with all the traffic. I can only see the people in Richmond or Surrey doing it.

!Kodamu 03-05-2011 12:44 AM

Depends on your tank size and which part of Vancouver. If right by Oak street bridge, you're still a good 30km away. So that is 60km round trip.

I live in Richmond. Depending on the car I bring down. I save from $15-25 per tank x that by everyweek.

Also depends on what time you go. I usually go after midnite. So no traffic at all. But if you were to go in the afternoon. You'll spend time idling at the boarder wasting gas.

baggdis300 03-05-2011 12:44 AM

like i said, i'd get two tanks for the price of one..

but i also lived in white rock :D, after moving to delta i still went weekly..

if you make the trip down there bring jerry cans, the border guards don't care at all...

busdriverman 03-05-2011 12:56 AM

i went to pt roberts last week for gas

chevron

reg. 101.1

cannot remember rates for other octanes but each grade was roughly an increment of roughly 4 cents a liter!

whats the legal position on transporting jerry cans? is this just something that customs is lenient on, or is this unlawful?
how many litres can you carry accross?
