this really annoys me that these bitches are going around gilt tripping people to donate and I bet they make huge amounts of money and they end up keeping it for themselves.

Fraud.

The only beggar I ever give money to is the one outside of GM Place that does the whole "Beer, beer, beer, beer..." thing. At least he's honest and entertaining.

yea usually i only give money to ppl who actually tries to earn it

the one by robson and burrard pissed me off though. he always had this card that said 53rd birthday. dude has like 53rd birthdays like 5 times a week

Two times when I went to watch a movie at the Scotia theatre some white guy comes by and begs for money for a train or he says he missed some train to some unkown part of BC. They like to ask you when you're in your car about to pay for parking. Another time I went to Chinatown for a quick lunch and some chinese guy kept begging for money as I'm about to get out of my car.

Whenever bums wait for me to pay for parking and ask me for money I just say sorry buddy paying with a credit card. They usually look quite dissapointed.

There's a guy I see periodically downtown, when I see him in the summer he's usually shirtless and wiry-strong with a dark tan. He's pushing a shopping cart around and picking up bottles and cans. Never asks for money, never bothers anyone. I've gotten him food and given him money before-- I'd rather the people who aren't begging "professionally" get it.

There's one old guy he hangs out on Howe right in front of the TD usually; he has a kind of desperation act, "Please won't anyone HELP me! I'm just so...PLEASE?!" Kind of thing. Lo and behold, I talk to a friend who works at a sushi place two blocks away and she says he's a regular, always ordering the expensive stuff. Not that I gave him money before, but...

There's this one time when my school used to be in DT. There was this woman outside 7/11 asking people for help and saying that she's preggo and all. This was during the winter time too.. i felt bad and went to timmy ho's and bought her coffee and timbits. Bitch says she only wants money. Got pissed off and just walk away and gave it someone else that APPRECIATES IT. Preggo my ass, stupid bitch.

I offered a panhandler man asking people for money outside of a Chinese bakery one a hot dog bun since I just bought a whole box and the bastard rejected me saying he doesn't like bread. What a POS, I felt like yelling his ear off until he was deaf.

I don't give money to anyone anymore.

ya it's bad for them.

as far as i'm concerned anyone that doesn't accept food when they're asking for money cuz they're "blah blah blah" is a scammer.

Is she the chick who misspells pregnant with an 'o', has a suitcase next to her and a sign that says "Trying to get to the Island, need change"? Ultimascammer.

murd0c 12-07-2010 08:46 PM

I feel real bad this time of the year and it's all because of all the scammer's we have to deal with day after day. You have been hearing it over the news in the past week or so about how donations are down this year. I think it's mainly because the general public is getting sick of tired of dealing with these fucktards and feel that it's almost impossible to trust anyone this day and age.

I personally think that if you feel sorry for these people make sure you make a donation to a reputable organization and you know your money's going to be going to the correct needs and not some drug habit or so the scammer can buy a new BMW. If people stopped giving these people cash the ones who need it will go to the places where they will get what they need. The sad thing is there will always be scammers and this day and age you can't trust anyone with what they tell you :(

Just bumping this up because three Filipino ladies just came to my house asking for donations holding the same laminated cards they have. They were driving a white early 90's corolla

LOL was this in Vancouver?

robotgirl 01-21-2011 01:07 PM

Saw the 3 filipino women at Chapters on No.3/Ackroyd in Richmond last night. Annoying as hell. It wasn't so annoying that they were asking for money, but the 3 of them approached me (and others in stores) 3 times, one after the other... literally 10 seconds apart. And they just leeched onto you!

I got pissed off after being pestered for the 3rd time, and told a store clerk that they were bugging customers and soliciting for money. They got the boot out of the store and when they walked by, one of them made a nasty face at me (she saw me talked to the store clerk). Classy.:failed:
