do you guys know any place that sells 97-01 prelude models?

ive checked a few "car stores", that have a bunch of models, but no preludes. preludes were never very mainstream/popular, so i havent been able to locate any.

thanks!

You may want to try Wilkinson's Automobilia.

They are on the corner of Ontario Street and Broadway in Vancouver. Awesome place. Not much in the way of Japanese imports, but cool nonetheless.

Found the coupon for On Track Hobbies. That basically tanslates into a 25% total savings, if you buy right up to equal value. Not bad, I guess. It's been on all month and will expire on the 31st of December.

Sorry for thread jack, didnt' want to start another one.

Anyone know where I can find an RC car for drifting? Something similar to a Tamiya TT-01? I don't know anything about RC cars or where to get them.

IIRC, there's a shop at Admiralty in Richmond?

Give Go Go Hobbies in Coquitlam a call or visit their site. They have a forum on there. Check it out.

Just bumping this thread because I'm bored out of my gourd.

I now shop exclusively at Go Go Hobbies in Coquitlam. They're more into RC cars and shit, but I found out they can get all kinds of things for plastic modelers. Tamiya tools and shit for a lot lower price than Imperial or anywhere else. Pretty damn quickly too.

Good selection of Tamiya paints, too. Best price on spray paints. On top of that, nice guys. Open on Sundays! Monday they are closed - oh well.

tofu1413 03-01-2011 10:15 PM

nothing new sir.

i did drive by go go hobbies though.

MG1 03-01-2011 10:32 PM

They don't have much stock in the plastic model section, but I like the fact I can order anything for a lot less than even eBay or HK. Plus, it usually arrives in about a week. I've ordered all kinds of tools and whatnot from HK suppliers and have been happy, but it takes a while for the stuff to arrive.

Anyway, my skills are improving. Airbrushing is so cool. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?

If you're looking for military and automotive model kits the place to go is Cameo Hobbies in Maple Ridge. Probably the best selection in the lower mainland and about the best prices too. They also buy collections, so they have a lot of discontinued and rare stuff. Loads of supplies (tools, paint etc.) as well.

OK, I'mma gonna go there today and check them out. I better not be disappointed, LOL.

Hmmmmm...... perhaps I should drop in on Autowerkes while I'm in that vicinity.

Senna4ever 03-09-2011 12:26 AM

Do any of the hobby shops have Yamato/Starblazers models?

MG1 03-09-2011 12:30 AM

There's this hobby shop in Richmond that has all kinds of stuff from Japan. The dude behind the counter is actually Japanese, as far as I can tell (accent). Can't recall the name of the place, but it is...................

J Hobby, that's the name of the place.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so here it is......... somewhat hobby related.

Iwase Books in Yaohan Centre is closing its doors for good.

http://www.iwasebooks.com/

Iwase is a Japanese bookstore that carries Gundam models and, of course, books. Stationery, car magazines, DVD's etc. I found out the announcement was made a couple of days ago, but they are clearing everything out. 70% off!!!!!! I shouldn't be mentioning it here on RS, 'cause everything will be gone for sure by the time I get there after work. If any RS members lurk/cruise Richmond, drop in and tell us what's left. 70% off Gundam models is pretty good. The last time I went to Iwase, the selection of models were good. Not much, but all very good ones.

Madspinner 03-09-2011 08:53 AM
