why did I have to see this vid... :okay: |
i haven't read the last 10 pages but... does anyone know what has happened to apollo hobbies in burnaby? i went by yesterday and it's closed and empty. there is a faded sign on the door saying they moved to richmond but no forwarding address. website is still up and (sort of) works but nothing about a storefront. |
Imperial Hobbies' annual customer appreciation sale is coming up! August 15, 16, and 17th. 25% off everything in store. Imperial Hobbies, Vancouver's premier source of hobby, gaming and role-playing games (RPG) for over 20 years. |
Just got out of Imperial Hobbies. Place was nuts for about an hour. 25% off everything. So many wargaming addicts. Most need to taske a shower. Line up was pretty bad because of bad BO. It's like RS. 99.86% guys. |
|
^ And the .14% female might as well have been a guy I'm guessing? |
Haha the tamiya track is nice. GoGo Hobbies just sponsored our electric and nitro Rc car race John's R/C Racing Blog: Ready To Run Raceway Summer Challenge 2014 |
Can anyone recommend a hobby store for buying quadcopters? -want to start a new hobby. This Blade 350 QX2 AP-Combo looks good: :woot2: |
Check out Go Go Hobbies. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. They're in Coquitlam on Austin Avenue. Really good guys and they know their stuff. |
Norburn Hobbies in Burnaby would be my top choice for Planes / Heli's. Dean, the owner, is a car guy as well. Great shop. -Dave |
For those of you who are looking for a scale model of the Subaru BRZ (Street Custom), Tamiya has a new kit out now. 1/24 Subaru BRZ Street-Custom http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/12658/index.htm New Tamiya items are in monthly release news - follow link below http://www.tamiya.com/english/news/news1411/news0.htm As for plane models, Zoukei Mura has released the Horton and is available through their Japan site. Not sure about their US site. http://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/produ...229horten.html EDIT: nvm, it is available from their US site, Volks USA. These models sell out fast. Once gone, expect to pay a lot of money when eBay becomes only option. The Shinden model I wanted sold out very quickly. I could have purchased it for just under 100 bucks. They are going for an average of 200 bucks. |
Imperial Hobbies 25% off sale all week. Magic Box is also having their Boxing Day sale. 20% off everything. Their prices aren't inflated like Imperial so about the same. I'm going to load up on Tamiya primer paint. |
i was wondering if there are any hobbyists that play with LED lighting? if yes, where do you buy locally? |

I have a bunch of 5mm LED's. Do you want the clear ones like in that video? I have at least a hundred. I also have yellow, pink, blue, green, and orange. Let me know like now as I am going to my storage locker right now....... |
Just got home and watched the entire video, All that stuff you can get at Lee's Electronic. |
THAT. IS. AMAZING. have not seen that kind of detail for a model car, wow. |
Buddy, you haven't seen anything yet. There are tonnes of stuff like this on the Internet. And, there are plenty of people doing amazing things and not sharing it with others - mainly because there's no time. |
i was wondering if anyone here has made their own waterslide decals before? Inkjet Decal Paper not sure what to get. this is for automotive diecast stuff. backstory: i bought this a few years back as a commisioned build online. it's a 1/18 motormax unmarked that was done up to be a gotham police department crown vic from the last movie of the trilogy: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...56a02c7dac3e6f but the work was not up to par, with bad paint and the custom decals are coming apart (eg. the "police" logo on the rear door) :( so i'm going to suck it up and try to redo everything on my own. i want to strip off the decals and try to wetsand the paint, recreate the waterslide decals and then clear over them... at least that is the plan? i've also never clearcoated over decals before successfully. when i used to build plastic kits i tried it once and the clear ate up the decals... not sure where i went wrong  |
bringing this back up from the dead again. does anyone know of the local shop that does chrome/black chrome plating for plastic? it might have been a hydrographics business. i remember seeing them advertising their services at a model exhibition a many years back but i've since lost their business card. i was hoping a modeler here might know who i'm talking about. i think they were based in coquitlam or poco. |
