nothing wrong with standing ur ground, but sometimes when ur not gonna win or u cant win, or the opponent is > you, u gotta figure that its not worth it. either that or be prepared to suffer whatever losses you may incur.
to me, it seems like the OP only stayed and filmed because he wanted something to happen, and then catch it on film. so you got what u wanted. granted it may not have been deserved, but i hope u learn a valuable lesson from all this.

also, just because you found someone that looks like him doesnt mean it is him. even here on this board, there are a few people who have stated that they cant make a match based on facial features. for the police to charge, we pretty much have to know 100% that some person did it. also, please consider the existence of identical twins however unlikely that maybe.

some people say keep walking but its not always that easy. if you keep walking you could possibly make the situation worse if those drunk retards wanted to fight some1 then it was going to happen

I worked downtown at clubs for 3 years, during that time i probably went clubbing maybe 200 times? Not to mention the times I went before I worked in the industry, -never- did I once have a problem ever downtown, wether I was with a group or by myself walking alone

Wrong place/wrong time maybe, but turning a camera around on a bunch of drunk idiots obviously didn't help the situation and more tha likely is what got you punched out..

^ yeah when he turned on the camera, i would've thought he was being cocky and showing that he is not backing down to their hoolignism...if he just acted differently and backed down, he wouldnt have been punched.

Split second decision: to turn around or not, I know if I was buzzed/drunk I wouldn't be acting all that logically as some of the Captain Hindsights here are suggesting so easily. OP was caught in a bad situation, but certainly didn't deserve the assault.

my personality/thought process is never different even when im absolutely shitfaced, never does it occur me as a good idea to get into a confrontation, or act as an aggressor in any situation, sure situations may arise but unless your just randomly jumped, there are ways of avoiding them

when i'm drunk i learn to control myself. Last time i went to a bar this guy knocked down 2 shots of 151 cause someone threw his cellphone. I confronted him and he told me to punch him in the face.. oh boy it is really hard to say no to that..

To the OP,the more upfront you are with your story,the better people can help you out,if you miss out on certain key points or not revealing the whole truth,then it just becomes more confusing for others to determine what exactly happened or why they did what they did.

If infact it was a gay bashing,then the cops will make it more of a priority to solve this case and arrest the person who assaulted you.
