you can just use regular ear plugs. you'll still be able to hear the music clearly and wont damage your ears

Get a traktor S4 instead if your working with a laptop.

It's approximately $200-250 more but well worth it

-EuroRSN- 05-23-2011 08:38 PM

BoostedSquid 05-24-2011 07:12 AM

Would you say cdj are more reliable? I did a set with my friends midi controller traktor s4, and his laptop crashed.. so i had to stop and start it up again...
and What laptop would be ideal?

-EuroRSN- 05-24-2011 03:05 PM

^ Traktor has a tendency to crash thus the reason why most ppl go for Serato cause its simple and realiable.

You can use a POS laptop with serato and it will run fine as for Traktor u may want a Laptop with 4GB of ram higher and a good processor. :) But that will still not guarantee u anything cause it might just glitch and die.. Just hope its not at a club lol

-EuroRSN- 05-24-2011 03:33 PM

HOLY SHIT EDC whos going? hahah fuck i wanna go sooo bad!!!!

JSALES 05-28-2011 08:34 PM

Oh my fuck. Fucking amazing. Fucking Amazing. How do I go... 19+?

BoostedSquid 05-30-2011 04:33 PM

Serato then? Or What about Numark?

Infiniti 05-31-2011 05:10 PM

Yuck..I dislike any software based programs like serato or traktor. When comp crashes, you're S.O.L and there goes you're gig.

Nope just hit a switch and throw on a record or CD. Most major DJ's now use some type of DVS system. Also CD's and records can skip.

Surprised a thread like this doesn't exist yet. Anyway If your a DJ or want to learn more about it then post your questions and answers here.

Also introduce your self and elaborate on your choice of music that you spin and how long you've been doing it for.

I personally started out with Virtual DJ to get my hands wet and eventually bought a Midi Controller. Now a days i invested in a pro system and seriously loving every minute of it. Its not like car which at some point you may regret building hehe :(

A few websites to get you familiar with the industry

Here is mine - 2x Pioneer CDJ-800 + Behringer DDM4000 Mixer

Edit: No! Is this thread dead?!? I'd love to learn more..
