^ i remember reading a while back that their reasoning for this was that the numbers didn't back it up

acquiring rights to blockbusters were expensive and when they did, usually turns out that most people had already watched it

just started watching GLOW...can confirm Alison Brie is hot af

Castlevania looks cool, I'll check it out this weekend. Anime style animation without the anime bullshit. Seems Good! SeemsGood

Glow is pretty good so far

dat_steve 07-17-2017 10:37 AM

Friends from College is pretty good.

solid cast/casting and a lot of the plot really hits home. really surprised with where they take things given the cast of comedians.

I recently started watching Black Mirror. It's pretty much our modern Twilight Zone and it's fantastic!

Instead of drugs, its money laundering gone bad. You guys should all check it out. If you liked breaking bad, I promise you that you will be hooked after watching episode 1 of ozark

Not a comedy, really good though. I binged all 10 episodes in two days well on vacation this week.

Pretty bummed that Boyd Holbrook won't be in Season 3 of Narcos. They were such a good team.

Netflix announces price increase for all new and current users | Daily Hive Toronto

Quote:

Your next ‘Netflix and chill’ session is about to get more expensive.

Netflix announced that it would be increasing its membership prices for new members. The price hike will be effective immediately.

The increase will also apply to current Canadian Netflix subscribers in the coming weeks. They will be notified of the price adjustment via email.

Previously, it would cost $7.99 to watch on one screen in standard definition. Users will now be paying $8.99.

Watching on two screens with HD will now cost $10.99, up from $9.99.

The biggest price hike applies to premium rates for watching on four screens at a time with HD and Ultra HD. The service will cost $13.99 — a $2 increase from the old rate of $11.99.

According to Netflix, the price hike is due to new features being added to the streaming service.

“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster,” the company said in a statement.

The last time Netflix raised its prices in Canada was in 2015.
