A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is fucking excellent so far |
I agree, great show. |
https://media.senscritique.com/media...he_lowdown.jpg I binged the Lowdown starring Ethan Hawke last week, I'm not a huge Ethan Hawke fan and sometimes question his acting ability, but I like him overall I feel he's a good human being and his heart's always in the right place and he does a good job in this show. I was shocked by how old he looks but hey he's 55 now so he's getting up there! The show is about him portraying a small town Oklahoma (suburb of Tulsa I gather) reporter for a small newspaper who also owns a book store. He calls himself a "truthstorian" and wrote a rather inflammatory piece about a local family and its ties to white supremacy in the region. It starts with the death of one of those family members and questioing whether it's a murder or a suicide and things quickly get dangerous for him and his family. I thought it was a great frantic pace at times with Ethan's character being out of his element as a writer, some great characters around him and some genuinely LOL moments tossed in here and there too. I quite enjoyed it. In particular there's one episode that Peter Dinklage shows up in and completely and utterly steals the show, I actually watched that episode twice I thought it was so funny and, actually, quite touching. I would recommend as a side watch, I've dabbled in writing myself so I enjoyed the character Ethan played and I hate white supremacist culture so I enjoyed the eye into that and some come uppance for those guys. Really good little guy fighting for justice story in our recently darker times. I think it was on FX but the image I stole above seems to claim it's on Disney+ 7.5/10 for me |
