The PB definitely has a much better media player, though the browsers are pretty close; I'd give the edge to the PB just because the TP has a few bugs in its default browser (though the $2.99 Advanced Browser is considerably better).

I didn't have to call mine, just make sure you point it to your carrier, ie Fido.

How does teathering work? Do I have to get it added on my plan or is it just taken off my data?

If you have a BIS plan with data, then you just need to get BlackBerry Bridge and pair them. If you want to just tether, you turn on bluetooth on your phone and PB and touch tether on your PB settings

If you have a Blackberry running OS 5 or later, just download Bridge and use that to link to the 2 devices.

Bridge will only let you use the browser so apps won't work.
If tether isn't working you guys probably need to set the TCP IP.

Anyone order one with the new price drops?

I hate how misleading Staples.ca was because they sent me an email advertising the Playbook at their new price points BUT they also added a coupon for $15 off any purchase of $100. On Staples' website the Playbooks are still listed as their original prices ($499+) so you need to enter in a coupon code in order to get the new prices.

Great! Problem is you can't stack coupons so there's no real incentive to buy from them... I ended up putting down an order for one anyway in case the other shops are all sold out. Worst case scenario I take it back and get a refund.

I also bought one from Future Shop just in case with a 5% off coupon they gave me for delivering my Batman Arkham City order late. It came to $214.13 after all taxes and fees. Anybody else score a better deal?

^^well yeah :P

i meant that @ first it seems they decided to just give a $300 gift card, then $150 accessories, then straight selling the tablet for $199 etc

You can't get into App World, but you can use apps while in Bridge Mode. I have a couple of newspaper apps and I have no issues accessing them while in Bridge.

I hope that everyone buying a playbook also has a blackberry phone to use with it. Without, the playbook isn't much fun.

Got to BestBuy at Cambie location at 10am. As soon as I walked in 10 people were already going to the cashier to pay for their PB's. Sold out within 20 mins of the 16gb.

I did my ISPU for 1 and also did price protection for 2 I bought the other day without any hassle. Was out of there in 5 mins.
