Just setup my PBm installed new update, and bridged with my Bold 9780 with no issues. So far so good, I think we all know this ain't no ipad but for the money I paid I'm liking it so far.

Try leaving it plugged for an hour or so. Make sure you hold the power button until the red LED comes on and then let go. Eventually , the Playbook splash screen will come up.

It happens in BlackBerries when the battery is drained too much that it's not able to turn on. Just keep it plugged in even though it seems like it's not charging

Go to Settings->General->Change "Application Behavior" to "Showcase"
Now trying again and it should work.

just got mine. staples in kelowna has a bunch. fs is sold out. staples has accessories on foe 50% off too.
setup and bridge worked no problem
what are some good useful apps?
especially something i can create simple and editable tables. can that be done in word on here?

For those of you who tried to do the Android mod and failed and now your computer won't recognize your playbook, or for any other reason you want to factory re-install playbook OS on your device.... This is not the security wipe, it is an actual full reinstall of the OS.
Restore PB to factory default
Options

Restoring the PB to factory default.
1. Open PB Desktop Manager
2. Connect PB to PC
3. Once connection is established go to "Help" should show no updates
4. Hard restart PB pressing power button and select "restart"
5. Once restart has begun Desktop Manager will display a popup window "option to Update" select update
6. This will take a long time approximate 15-20 minutes while the Original OS is downloading from RIM server
7. Follow on screen instruction at end
The original factory install will have been restored (all images, videos original games etc) . You need to re-initialize the PB from the start, just as if you just got it home from your store purchase.
NOTE: a security wipe does not restore the PB to factory Original.
