Yup, time for all kinds of people to come out of the woodwork.

Smooth transition? We'll see. Bring out the popcorn. We'll see what Egypt is really all about.

I still have faith in humanity, but very little.

I bet US will be in there like a dirty shirt. After all democracy is what the US is all about.....:troll:

tool001 02-11-2011 03:01 PM

Too bad they couldn't pull this in Iran.

StylinRed 02-11-2011 03:17 PM

They did do it in Iran they kicked the Shah out who was the "original" Mubarak taking all the ppls $$ etc so the people rose up and we have the Iran of today

the CIA keeps trying to pull crazy shit (even in IRAQ) but they kept failing because overall the majority of the ppl weren't behind it (that's why the USA went in with the army to Iraq)

The last riot that took place in Iran was another right wing group that played on the heart strings of the youth (that's why the US didn't see a reason in backing them because and i quote "the two parties are very similar")

Manic! 02-11-2011 03:29 PM

PARTY TIME!!!!

:haha::spin::jiggy::buttrock::willnill::wooha: :Pbjt: :high::wiggle::):):)

This is not just a great day for Egypt it's a great day for the whole world.

I agree that he was the reason that a more radical party never stood a chance, however, this is better for them. They deserve a shot at the freedom we enjoy here. Not saying that you're not on the same boat as me, you are.. but I guess what I'm trying to say is.. we can't let the possibility of radicals coming into power stand in the way of ousting a dictator.

I sincerely hope that good comes out of this.

dangonay 02-11-2011 04:39 PM

With Tunisia and now Egypt, are neighboring countries also thinking "it's our turn"? Mubarak isn't the only one hanging on too long.

One of the news casts read this twitter post:

What happens in Egypt stays in Egypt.
From your friends: Arab dictators.

Bouncing Bettys 02-11-2011 06:14 PM

All this activity to remove evil dictators and move towards democracy and it doesn't take a US lead coalition shock and awe?

StylinRed 02-11-2011 06:25 PM

yeah except this was Americas dictator that was ousted

that's why fox news msnbc etc etc are reporting that the terrorists are going to take over now and how the middleest cant have democracy on their own

glen beck says the anti-christ will take over lol

Manic! 02-12-2011 02:15 AM

I'm more scared of Sarah Palin or Jeb Bush than the Muslim brotherhood and if you want to talk about extremists look no further than Glen Beck.

CBS News says correspondent Lara Logan is recovering in a U.S. hospital from an attack while reporting on the tumultuous events in Cairo last Friday.

Logan was in the city's Tahrir Square after Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a mob of more than 200 people, the network said in a statement on Tuesday.

Separated from her crew in the crush of the mob, she suffered what CBS called "a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating." She was saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.

She reconnected with the CBS team and returned to the U.S. on Saturday.

At least 140 correspondents who have been injured or killed since Jan. 30 while covering the unrest in Egypt, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

An Egyptian reporter died from gunshot wounds he received during the protests.

A week before Friday's attack, Logan was detained by the Egyptian military for a day, along with two CBS cameramen. They returned to the U.S. after their release, and Logan went back to Cairo shortly before Mubarak left.

Logan joined CBS News in 2002. She regularly reports for the CBS Evening News as well as 60 Minutes, where she has been a correspondent since 2006. She has reported widely from Iraq and Afghanistan, and other global trouble spots.
