The Japanese PM just made a speech and confirmed there is no leak from any of their nuclear powerplants.

RCubed 03-10-2011 11:00 PM

Feels bad for those drivers right where the waves are flowing.. They cant see the waves like we do on the helicopter. They cant even expect it!

Fafine 03-10-2011 11:00 PM

wonder where and when the flood will stop..it looks like a black plague just spreading

so the island blocks the major impact of the tsunami but wont richmond still flood because the water will still rush around the island? or would it be too weak by then? and fuck the footage is scary

probably

but bc rmd is under sea-level...

many substantial rise in water level will mess richmond up

The power of the tsunami waves would be significantly reduced by the Olympic peninsula and Vancouver Island.

There shouldn't be anything major hitting Richmond, BC.

Tsunami watch issued for the Oregon coast; wave could hit before 7:30am PT Friday - The Oregonian http://bit.ly/gBXZzW

Everything west of Japan is safe, unless the seismic waves from aftershocks cause problems further away. I guess it depends on the type of seismic waves - p or s-waves. Wish I remembered more from geophysics classes. So long ago.
