Yah was looking at monohydrate, more specifically the Allmax Creapure. Does it really matter if it's creapure or not? I feel like cheaping out :p

strykn 02-03-2012 02:12 PM

anyone else notice sideeffects with zma? i use to take higher power zma no problem. but ever since i started using sci-fit zma, i've been getting a little acne, dry skin and for a day or 2 i had patchy redness near my upper cheekbone. stopped taking it for a few days and all of it went away.

hal0g0dv2 02-03-2012 03:31 PM

^^^^^ hmm that is werid
i got some bb zma and its great, have not taken it for a while and back on the wagon

blkgsr 02-03-2012 05:38 PM

so zma is just a sleeping aid? or you use it as a source of magnesium?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZMA_(supplement)

seems kinda pointless (yes i know it's wikipedia)

It's a zinc and magnesium supplement, which is not pointless if you eat an average diet, since the average diet is deficient in these minerals. Magnesium is the most important mineral to make sure you're getting enough of.

The claims by ZMA are pure bullshit, but it's a solid mineral supplement. Magnesium also helps aid sleep (it's also a laxative in high enough doses) so that is kind of a bonus.

Read this post to understand why magnesium is so important:

thanks for the link

is ZMA the best way to accomplish this or straight magnesium pills?

SkinnyPupp 02-03-2012 06:05 PM

Note that you don't have to take ZMA.. any Magnesium and Zinc supplement will be fine.

125 day supply of NOW Mag Citrate: $11 (400mg magnesium, 2 tabs)
120 day supply of NOW Zinc Picolinate: $7 (50mg zinc, 1 tab)
TOTAL: $18

Alternative: 120 day supply of NOW Mag Malate: $16.50 (450mg magnesium, 3 tabs)

120 days of SciFit ZMA (2 180 cap bottles) (30mg zinc, 450mg magnesium, 3 caps)
TOTAL: $40

So ZMA is kind of overpriced when you can get the same thing from pure supplements. Some people just take it because it's easier to get it all from one bottle, I guess.

Also what I like about going the non-ZMA route is you don't get the B6 which would negatively interact with 5-HTP

Whatever mineral you get, make sure it is a chelate - ending in "ATE" instead of "IDE". So Magnesium Malate, Aspartate, Citrate, etc all good. Oxide = crap

I'm almost out of whey and find buying from bb.com too much of a hassle so i called popeyes cuz i swear they had 2 tubs of ON whey for $100 last time i went in.
the tubs are now $60 each. he says price of whey has been going up and likely to continue to go up.
then i was on live chat with a rep from bb.com and he confirmed that whey prices are going to increase very soon because it's getting hard to find a good source of whey.

stock up.

Excelsis 02-04-2012 04:09 PM
