Otherwise I prefer to use sidestripe shrimp to spot prawns. Not as large or impressive. Equally delicious.

Spot prawn season yet again, and yet again people subtle flexing posting their spot prawn meals all over their Instagram.
If you ate spot prawns and didn't post it on social, did you really eat spot prawns?

The "norm" that I see seems to be in the $19 - $20/lb range this year for live ones?
I've seen as low as $13/lb, but those are for non-live and non-frozen ones.

Remove from heat and stir in the butter so it melts in slowly and emulsifies with the tomato juices and wine. Sauce should coat a spoon. Have some toasty bread to mop it up.

-had spotted prawns for dinner last night for the first time this year.
I steamed the prawns in a wok for ten minutes. Then I heated some cooking oil to add the oil in order to cook some scallions. Put the heated cooking oil into a sauce dish along with the scallions. Add soya sauce.
Dipping sauce for the spotted prawns. Delicious!

Picked up some Spotties on Saturday, pretty plump this year.
Ate a few sashimi style, then simply boil the rest for 2 min. Heat up olive oil then pour it over thinly sliced serrano peppers and soy sauce. Simple yet delicious dipping sauce.
Made some Seafood Miso soup with a bunch of the heads, scallions and tofu with udon noodles.

Made some last weekend but when I was boiling, realized they had a lot of gunk/dirt/dark green substance leaking from the heads... I don't recall that happening last year, maybe just poop?

People can't afford spotted prawns then they're preparing their anus to overpay for GVRD properties well over asking.

It's that time again. Dailyhive says there's "huge demand" this season. Anyone seen prices yet?
