I heard that if you pan fry some sweet soy sauce + chilli oil + chopped garlic, it'll taste really legit.

Went to the superstore on Marine, and they didn't have any...

Ended up buying a few pounds from the fish market at Oakridge. A little more expensive, but I didn't feel like driving all the way to the superstore on grandview.

Made some skewers and some coconut prawns along with the usual hot water ones.

Super fresh from Grandville Island boats, will have to try TNT in a few weeks

Called my local fish market.. $32/lb

Save-on has them for $22/lb... might just have to do rather than spend $5 in gas driving to Richmond and back.

Holy shit, $16 a pound.

At that rate, my new trap puller and traps are going to pay for themselves by the end of the summer...

Pulled in 5lbs of prawns just last weekend

You have to buy them from the seafood store. From what I'm told, the boats on the dock technically can not sell prawns. They sell shrimp.

They had them live for $20/lb off the boat at the Steveston dock, today.

T&T Ora had them for $14.99/lb.

FYI,

Red Tide Warning.
It's a heads-up from my friend at CFIA.

We're talking like the largest in recorded history.

Algae bloom is caused by an increase of acid in the water due to global warming (and human intervention, depending on which side of the fence you're on). It will definitely have a detrimental effect on seafood.
