Revscene Mobile IPHONE and ANDROID apps! I am working on finalizing dedicated apps for both Iphone (and Ipod touch and Ipad) and Android mobile devices. These apps will give full access to forums, including control panel, private messaging, etc, etc. I wanted this to be a big surprise. There are several ways to go about this though, and I wanted to ask you guys first. To be able to submit apps, you need to have accounts with both Apple ($99 per year) and Google ($25 one time fee) Basically: If the app were to cost $0.99 for the itunes version, would you be interested? Or is the only way you would use it if it was free? How about ads? Please answer the poll and let me know what you think Thanks! |
I'd pay $0.99 for an app. I've also seen apps out there for vBulletin forums. Some work right out of the box and some require a plug-in to be installed. Just curious as to whether RS has looked into installing a plug-in to allow existing apps to work (like Tapatalk)? |
I'd like to keep it separate to RS only. |
you cheap bastards pay the $0.99!!! i freaking hate ads and to lazy to do try to block them |
Well we could do free and paid versions of each, I guess I am kind of surprised how many people say they'd only use it if it was free AND ad free... it's early though I guess. I'll go to bed now and check this thread tomorrow :) |
I'd gladly pay .99 cents if you could get one for blackberries :( Posted via RS Mobile |
i wouldnt mind paying 0.99 cents for an ad free ap on any platform... |
I spend a disgusting amount of time on rs. you guys work hard to maintain and keep this running. i dont mind chipping in $1 for an ad free app. whats the rough estimate release date? |
Blackberry App would be nice :alone: You can probably find a dollar in your dryer so there should be no reason you wouldn't pay for this app! |
No estimated date, since it all depends on how the acceptance process goes. BB users, sorry, for now you'll just have to use the mobile website until you get a better phone :troll: |
no bb no care. |
surprised i'm the only one that voted so far for free + yes ads if necessary. RS Mobile right now already has ads, and non-mobile now has ads too. To be cheap AND demanding is just crazy to me lol... why not make it free with ads, and for people who want no ads, they can choose to upgrade to a paid version for 99 cents and have no ads? Similar to what a lotta other apps do |

What features will the mobile app provide that the current mobile site doesn't? |
^ maybe it'll include rs chat, thanks and fail button? |
I voted for free with ads. Then I realized I should have voted for 0.99c. We don't want anonymous trolls raiding the app. Definitely be cool to have something like the Thanks and Fail. Or only have the Fail button :troll: |
How about something on Tapatalk |
I would pay .99c for the app. But IMO I would release a free version with an in-app upgrade to the non-ad version. That way those who want to support RS and the app can do the upgrade for the non-ad version and those who don't want to pay the .99c will have the ads... Either way though, it'll end up on installo.us or something. |
i'd probably just scope it off of my free app resource :troll: |
Yea I'd gladly pay if it also came with thanks/fail button+chat |
I dun mind a dollar...but I rarely go on RS when I'm out. Twitter is where the fun is at lol |
Features I'd like to see: - Ability to take a photo from your phone (or phone's album) and post it to the forum. - Thanks/Fail as mentioned. - Multi quote instead of only Quote. - Advanced search so you can at least limit searches to a forum |
This poll is showing us that android users are cheap bastards! lol |

How much of the sales proceeds will go back into the wellbeing of rs as a whole? |
