I didn't buy the patch, not worth the $35 at Vancity sports IMO.

But I did see 3 XXL 40th jersies at the team store with the patch, and they had the single piece of thread btwn the numbers as well.

As for stitching, its easy to do if you have access to a sewing machine, didn't any of you take home ec in grade 8? Any alteration place or tailor should do it for cheap, just tell them you want the zig zag stitching and tell them exactly where you want it stitched.

I've also been noticing a lot more 'center-ice collection' white and navy whale logo jersies with the '98 all-star game patch. May be a chance that those are making the runs through the counterfeiters now

It's now $69 instead of $59 like yesterday. They probably saw a big spike in sales for Vancouver jerseys and now they are released name stitched ones too.

Fakes of the '98 Orca used to flood eBay back in the day. They were one of the first counterfeits I ever saw. However, they had amazing detail down to the Game ONe (and even went as far as the Game Worn) patches.

I stopped seeing those fakes once "Griffenfood" stopped selling on eBay and all of these laughable fakes came onto the market.

However the majority of the blank '98 Orcas I've seen on eBay have been legit.

They must've gotten them for dirt cheap... unless they were stolen. If they got these from Reebok then they're making pennies!

The listing says US retail was only 79.99us, whereas Premier jersies retail at $135 up here.

^The legitness of those patches have been in question since the 40th patches were never made available for public sale, and cannot be bought outside of teamstore 40th jersies officially.

I have no idea whether they are fake or not. But coolhockey.com will not sell the patch on its own. You have to ship them your jersey for them to sew on.

You can sue them if its fake but they are legit

Mickz proved that they were fake a few months ago when shawn posted the coolhockey 40th patches

^I'm not sure he proved that they were fake. I haven't seen coolhockey's 40th patches or even pictures of them. But if they are indeed fake, why would they need you to send your jersey in to stitch them on? They will not sell those patches on their own.

Officially the patches were only available on Premier jersies at the team store, but its a possibility that some patches made it onto the grey (or black?) market. As I mentioned the latest 40th jersies with patch I saw at the team store about a month ago looked the same as Vancity Sports' ones with the piece of thread between the numbers.

UFO, if you have the chance can you snap a picture of the 40th anniversary patch on the luongo jersey at the team store for us to see? From what i saw last time i compared it side by side and it was identical smooth wax on the back and most importantly numbers with the lining thread on to another.

Team store doesn't have any 40th anniversary jerseys when i went to Wednesdays game

Cool Hockey's patches are not legit. I'd say call the Canucks Store and ask but not a lot of people there know the back story to it. The Canucks even had their lawyers contact Cool Hockey about those patches. Cool Hockey ignored the threats in the original letter sent to them and the Canucks never followed up on it. This is all fact...

This might help, my Henrik 40th with receipt to prove authenticity. Did a quick google search on coolhockey.com and the 40th patch last night and almost every site listed their patch as fake.
