Plus, there is no point naming them. The photo does not explicitly show any criminal act in process, so none of them in this picture can be prosecuted for anything.

I just feel bad for the guys who are being named out of assumption with this blurry photo. Be careful about framing the innocent !!

Its a photo of a video from the news. Although my words may mean little I agree with the names.

This was on the news earlier and when I saw the clip I saw the faces and I put those names to them. In the clip they were just starting fights. Again this was on the news, I don't actually have the clip so its really just my words.

You know, watching all of this from Chicago, I was surprised at what was happening but let me give you an outside perspective ....

Ironically .. all of this showed me how good of a place Vancouver is...
and I mean that. You have people that volunteer to clean up the place, 'thank you' notes on police cruisers .. amazing people..
Canada rocks, eh..

With that said, I don't think anyone doing damage to property deserves to be killed, but I do support them being beaten within literally.. an inch of their death..

For those that have used violence on other people though.. that's a different story. I'd round 'em up and death squad them in broad daylight.
Sometimes North Korea is best Korea.

A summary of the damage:

- Windshield smashed
- Both side windows smashed
- Rear hatch glass smashed
- Rear hatch dented
- Front passenger side bumper damage
- Rear bumper damage
- Driver's side mirror pulled backwards
- Slurpee all over my hood
- Dents on my roof and my sunroof caved in from someone standing on the car.

Trying to sell the car right now too. A huge dec is going to kill my resale value. I'm probably out $2-3k in resale if not more.

I was downtown too at Ap Gu Jung on Robson. Once we saw the car was on fire we left and got back to Richmond. Watched all the craziness on TV with a pit in my stomach wondering what is wrong with people.

Then I wake up to discover my car like this. I'm just lost for words as to how a city can behave like this. :(

Kev

Holy effing s*it.. My car was parked there too! My gf and I were watching the game @ Riverrock. After the Bruins scored the 3rd goal, I had a bad feeling that shit's gonna hit the fan soon. We booked it and headed straight home.

Good luck with the insurance dealings :(

If you really know who they are, please do report them to the VPD because no one else here is going to do it for you since they don't know them.

I'd like to see these assholes prosecuted.

This goes both ways... if innocent bystanders are being victimized, you can surely bet that a large mob of Canadians will serve justice right there and then.

If we lived in a democratic, moral and fair system, these humans would have not rioted.
The problem we have is that we can not be collectively uniformed (as with hockey) in the governing choices we want because those options are not available. These riots give a little power to the people if you realize it or not.
Multi-national corporations, monopoly insurers, and the government are taking our jobs, future security, and tainting the moral fabric of society.
Lastly I dont like how people are forwarding the suspects of property damage to the ministry of police, the Crown owns this city, not you.

I can definitely agree with you on the empowerment that these rioters get from their outlaws. Are you implying that a group of rioters you are referring to are venting out their anger of powerlessness in our economy? Hundreds of people came prepared and equipped with riot gear just to watch a hockey game, some to be recognized as protesters of the 2008 Winter Olympics. Can you see that there might be different groups of rioters with different underlying reasons for their actions?

I believe there are certain groups within the crowd who have authentic reasons for their rioting, the initiators, who then are followed by the kids who "go along" with the crowd of participating in destruction for the sake of the thrill.

It's my first time reading an "appoligy" letter.

I didn't know the LV store was damaged as well, I didn't see any videos or pictures online.

What for? Do you have a hate for this particular group of people? Clearly, that photo is absolutely insufficient to be of evidence of any criminal activity. People can only be prosecuted in photos ONLY if the photo is clearly taken during a criminal action is taking place. Do you see any of them flipping a car, starting a fire, or even throwing a punch? Sure they might be in a fight, but they cannot be seen "fighting" or harming anyone.

So as a side note to all, this goes the same for all other photos that are not taken during a criminal activity taking place. They are not sufficient evidence, even if you can readily identify the person in the photo. (e.g. a smiling person standing in front of a burning car DOES NOT MEAN HE/SHE SET IT ON FIRE, THUS, CANNOT BE PRESUMED SUSPECT)

People putting love and thank you notes on a police cruiser on Granville

This warms my heart. :)

Only hope the cop doesn't have to rush to an emergency with all that stuck to his car.

He'll probably be cheered up by this but at the same time "I gotta clean all this up. Fuck."
