So how is this years team compared to last?
haven't followed NHL since June 15th so have no idea.
First year in about 10+ years of watching that I'm not following.

Of course i'd still follow the team, but just not as much, like trying to make time for every regular season game, or get worked up after every loss. Even though im still pretty young, it seems like ive been following the team for a while, long enough to know that its the postseason that really counts

I don't know about you guys, but this regular season matters very little to me.
Especially after last year, I think as long as this core remains, no regular season will be interesting. These guys have NOTHING to prove in the regular season. The same questions will pop up throughout the season: Is Luo getting enough/too much rest? Sedins too soft? Team too soft? What will Gillis do about the fourth line? Can we stay healthy?
None of it matters, they will all be judged based on their performance in the playoffs.
