call me cheap Todd, but as nice or as much as they are an "investment" piece (TONS of girls say their purses are "investments pieces"are BS to me, even if they are time pieces for watches...) i'm going to have to go with look alike.... |

dayummmmm $465. Quote:
With that said, "investment" pieces are realistic in the sense of Cost-Per-Wear. Total cost of the item/ estimated number of days you’ll wear it = the cost per wear Value, not low prices should be your focus when budget shopping. Remember a bargain is only a bargain if you actually wear it. Or if it's made of cheap quality as well. edit: see if you'd be interested in OCS M1 desert boots for this fall, i'll sell it at a discount for a fellow fashionbrah. http://www.revscene.net/forums/67448...D-sz-44-a.html |
it's all good man, didn't say you called me cheap, but from the forum of people buying like D&G hoodies and TONS of shit i couldn't even possibly afford... i just ain't high roller compared to alot of people here. |
i always feel like shoes are a better buy than other clothing items (denim is a close 2nd) |
Figure this thread would be just as good to ask as Where to Buy locally thread. Got Clarks DBs last year and wore them a bit during snowy season and noticed a bit of salt damage. Also noticed they aren't very water proof. Where can I buy something to re-weatherproof them for this year? And what supposed to be the best? Mink oil or beeswax or something else? The salt damage looked like this but I looked up online how to fix it to some extent http://www.brandish.tv/wp-content/up...0.22.50-AM.png |
Sno-Seal from a military surplus store. Gorilla Surplus on Broadway carries it - at least they do online. Here's a link to an album of what CDBs look like with Sno-Seal (not my pics) Be wary, though. The crepe soles that CDBs use soak water up so they aren't the best to use in wet conditions - your socks will still get wet. No idea what to do about salt damage. |

Some winter boots... but idk what =/ Also would like to start collecting sneakers.... |

Chippewa boots, anyone have experience with these? From the pictures they aren't quite as nicely detailed as Red Wings or Wolverines, but they come close and are available for under $150 at regular price or on sale for $80. They're handmade in America, and the quality is very well reviewed. J.Crew offers Chippewa made boots around $300, and they seem to be slightly more detailed but fundamentally very similar. http://s16.postimage.org/61avqs7th/chippewa_1.jpg |

They look like this http://www.oohlalablog.com/wp-conten...eakers-1-1.jpg There's some on ebay but I don't know if they're authentic |

1000 miles are super comfortable. even the first time i wore it, it hardly needed any break-in. also they are borderline dress boot. they use horween leather, and leather soles, so they are a bit more delicate than red wings. |

does anyone know where I can go try on some AE's? I'm really wanting the Cronmok wingtip's but not sure how the width really works on leather shoes... thanks! example of the shoe. http://www.allenedmonds.com/wcsstore...ok_brown_l.jpg |
Harry Rosen, stock depends on location (e.g. Oakridge didn't have Strands). Get your foot measured on a Brannock, which calculates width as well as length. Any respectable shoe store should have one (even Sport Check has these). Compare your size to the AE a size guide on their site and check out their last information as well. |
