Has anyone ever heated up their leather boots to try and get boot oil into the pores of the leather?

i've heard this talked about and seen it on boot forums etc but i cant find any info on it?

You can heat them up as well just don't put them in for too long.

When it's sunny and warmer out, you can apply the LP and let it sit in the sun for about 30 mins.

I applied some on my 875s a few weeks ago:

sun seems a safer bet than a heat gun, maybe ill wait

nice wear on those 875's!

looking for some nice red wings shoes, anyone know where I can get some good deals. pleaes dont' say ebay. I know good things don't usually go on sale so i might as well bite the bullet on a pair of nice shoes.

Hondaracer 01-09-2013 08:39 PM

i looked around for quite a bit for pricing on my 877's, outside of used the cheapest was always the local RW dealer

however, if the online sites are accurate, RW USA has wayyyy more models in stock than Canadian stores

Try the Bay Downtown. Sometimes they have 15%-25% off if you have a the bay card. It's the only place I've seen them for cheaper.

Calbeee 01-11-2013 03:06 AM

if those jimmy choos go lower i would get them.. the black suede high top

StylinRed 01-11-2013 03:42 AM

yeah those are pretty nice, a new addition to the sale, not sure if they'll reduce the price further as part of their winter sale because the sales reached the final phase; you may have to bookmark them so you can check to see if they've been reduced further

as i get older, i don't nwat to settle for shitty soles.

i want the heel to be decent quality and the bottom to be wood, leather. i can't stand cheap ass Aldo plastic bottoms no more. again you get what you pay for.

I'm with you on that. I used to get Aldo shoes and those soles ripped right off on me, every damn one. Ever since then, I went with Ferragamo and never turned back.

nononon, I ai'nt picking on you Calbeee, don't worry, nice gif hahhha

I've converted my gf to buy nice wood / leather bottom shoes or at lesat learn to appreciate it. a lot of shoes are plastic bottoms and it is what it is, but aldo type black heels are just shit and i refuse to buy them.

Hondaracer 01-14-2013 04:04 PM

1.5 months into my 877's, about 4 oil applications over that time and fairly steady wear, best boots i've ever owned hands down, highly recommend red wings!

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...ps1bfb6b4f.jpg

they are actually about 4-5 shades darker than they were to begin with now through wear/oiling, pretty sweet :D

azn_beef 01-14-2013 04:26 PM

i used to wear aldo stuff but now i strive for a lot more quality
