Yeah the RNG is complete bullshit.

the drops are crappy because you're in hell. get to inferno and the drops are a lot better.

blizzard's plan for this game is for players to grind endlessly, not for experience points, but for items. Inferno is purposely made almost impossible just so players need to farm for the best items possible before they can last more than 2 hits. Sets and legendaries are super rare just so they will be exclusive to only a very small % of palyers. We all know once RMAH comes out, everyone who has the best items (sets, high-end legendaries) will be putting it up for sale there, and not the regular gold AH.
The goal of blizzard is to make $$$ off of RMAH from d3 players.

Legendaries look like theyre not as good as rares, but combine multiple pieces of legendaries together and you will have bonuses like:
- 20% melee dmg reduced
- +15% dmg to elites
- 25% increased overall hp
- crit chance increased by 30%
- 300+ resist all

With those stats you can probably do inferno easier, but once RMAH comes out, dont expect to spend anything less than real money to get those items.

i guess you can say the bottom line is that blizzard wants players to get so pissed at farming for good items to be able to do inferno that theyre willing to just pay real moeny for items instead. Also when pvp comes out, it's gonna mean $$$ for blizzard as well.

My gold farming method is to do Dank runs + Butchers wife quest in the early act 1 quest line "The legacy of Cain". I throw on +gold% items and get decent profit.

Another method I want to do but haven't got around to it yet was to do Nightmare Whimsyshire Runs, while wearing +gold% items.. Then when you clear it vendor all the blues and yellows for gold b/c they wont be upgrades.
Pretty sure nm will be easy with only wearing +gold% gear, but if not, do this in normal.

If anyone havnt figure out this, you can skip act..
I skipped to act 4 infernal to farm for some item...

lets say I want to get into act4 q3.. infernal

1. I "start game" in act4 q3 in hell mode, and leave the game
2. Join public game and you will be able to select act4 q3 in infernal. leave the game
3. Then when you press "resume game" you will be able to create infernal act4 q3 games in your own private game!

i did act 4 - 1 on hell 60k/ run every 40 seconds

cant even do hell with the equip i got =(.... and rather invest in items with req 60... that 15% deduction is a rip

I completely agree with you that Blizzard built this game from the ground up to support the financial model that the RMAH will bring. I don't actually mind them adopting such a financial model, provided that the game can still be relatively enjoyable without succumbing to that model myself. But the gripe (or at least, my gripe) with the current D3 is that after NM, players are pretty much forced to adopt the RMAH if they want to proceed with the game. If you don't, the rest of the game just isn't fun anymore after you're done with NM.

And how long did it take me to finish NM? 1 week, tops, of some not-very-aggressive gaming? I even followed the entire story -- with all the dialogues from all the main NPCs (including my hirelings), cut scenes, and everything during the normal difficulty as well.

My goodness... Blizzard failed on so many levels in this game it isn't even funny... But the most ironic thing is, despite the RMAH financial model that Blizzard is shooting for, they have continued to be unable to deliver on it. The regular gold AH isn't even functioning well so far in the game. Ironic, indeed...

as long as you dont change quests you will be able to keep doing this exploit. once you change quests, you'll lose it. (assuming you haven't actually gotten that far normally).

I am around lvl 55 and still in ATC 2 in hell and most gear drops (even rare) are for like lvl 45 to 48@@ All the gears I got came from the AH coz no way with lvl 48 gear I can contiune.....

there is no real max mf%, the only limitations are given by gear, which will change as new items/item attributes/expansion(s) are released.
Not that it matters all that much anyways, mf% works as ''increased chance to drop'', so if an item has a 0.001% chance to drop, having even 300mf will only increase the drop rate by a minute amount. Plus, I am not too sure how it works exactly, but I believe it continues to have diminishing returns like in D2.

it works, only assuming someone has started a public game in inferno with the act/quest you want to join.

MF splits for the # of players in the game. So if you have 40% and your playing with 3 others then it splits to 10% each I think..
