I sometimes wonder that.

Hobz: "I'm so fat! I went to the gym today and this 10/10 model came in and wanted to blow me right on the treadmill! So annoy!"

Next day

Hobz: "Wow! Porsche called me today to offer me a free 911 because they like me so much, I told them FUCK OFF, I don't drive beetles!"

Next day

Hobz: "I came into work late today and slapped my blonde assistant's ass, I only hire blonde because docks don't care! Now she complained to HR! STUPID BITCH! My boss came into my office and gave me a 20% raise because he liked my jib! Take that WHORE"

The WORST part about freelancing is waiting to get paid. Freelancing is fucking awesome in so many ways, but the #1 headache of being your own boss is shaking the fuckin money tree of clients.

I've started taking 50% up front, which, you know, makes things a bit easier... but then you still have to chase down the other 50%!

Need to vibe code up myself a payment-harasser bot that just fucking harasses the shit out of my clients until they pay. Or take 100% up front.

The hard case on my Mastercraft socket set shit the bed after 15+ years and split in the middle. I have it ghetto taped together using Tuck Tape but this obviously ain't a long term solution. I don't have a garage to buy a big toolbox to transfer the sockets etc to and I'm too cheap to buy a new set with a new case when there's nothing wrong with the tools now. Would prefer something mobile. Any good ideas? Thinking of some lockable socket rails and then a small box with drawers or something, but takes up more real estate than what I have now.

The loose socket set a friend gave me I tossed onto socket rails and put into a rollable tool bag. It's about the same number of pieces as my main set but it's much smaller than they are in a hard case, which is nice because I bring it on any road trips or 4x4 outings.

Isn't there a lifetime warranty on Mastercraft products? I think you just walk into a store and they "should" replace the defective part...assuming they still have it.

Their alternative is to replace it with something similar.

Your mileage may vary. Looks like from recent searches, most results suggest they will screw you over however they can.

Jing, i think bcr may be right.
Go walk into cad tire and ask for a replacement.

I had to replace a couple broken sockets like 10 years ago and they straight up opened a new socket set, took the exact same socket, and replaced mine on the spot without receipt.

Also let me know if you have the same socket set as me, mine is also split on the seam from a decade of abuse lol

It's Mastercraft Maximum that carries the lifetime warranty, not the regular stuff, and they've started to reduce it significantly in the last few years as well. You need to read the fine print to see if your "Maximum" tool you are thinking of buying is indeed lifetime.

I stand corrected and learned something new today. Just to clarify, is it this brand? Canadian Tire - Maximum

I have an older Mastercraft socket set, but it's not the Maximum brand.

I believe a long long long time ago, Mastercraft was all lifetime warranty. You may have to dig up your shit and prove it though.

And yeah that's the Maximum I'm talking about.

My Guangdong hoarding ways resulted in me saving the receipt. I still have it crisp and clean from 2016.

That’s why just take a picture of important receipts. It’s easier and you’ll always have it backed up on Google photos or Apple photos.
