Looking for parking advice at UBC this term.

I've lived in Surrey and commuted via skytrain/bus in the past,
I've lived 10 minutes bus away from campus before,
I've lived in Richmond and driven to UBC (parking at UBC parking lots),

This term I'm going to be driving from Surrey to UBC and I'm looking for advice on where to park without paying for UBC parking lots.

- Is my only option to park on the street close to campus and bus my way in? If so, which streets/areas would be best?

- Any other suggestions? (perhaps park at Bridgeport or something?)

- For those who drive, what do you guys/girls do?

I just park in the lots. No hassle once you have the pass. Also have unlimited in and out.

If you bus, you have to park, wait for bus, bus to UBC. During rush hour, buses are just packed. Could possibly be 20+ minute wait depending on the time. In the long run, its just not worth it for me.

You could try parking at crown on 41st and bus in from there, or park on the beginning section of the highway. That's all I can think of right now

You can also park by the highway on 16th by the Pacific Spirit Park and taking the 33/25. Its closer than parking on dunbar and taking 41/43/49/430, which is what I usually do.

There's also a not very well known area of free parking available on campus...other members shared it with me shoot me a PM if you'd like to know where :troll:

UBCSCC had their icebreaker on the top floor of north parkade, if people are willing to pay. After 5PM it's $5, for those who do not have a parking pass (myself included).

Otherwise we could always do it at Spanish Banks
