Science has the best of both worlds; girls that are smart and decent-looking. In commerce, the girls may be good looking but for smarts... heh.

dyan 04-15-2012 09:46 PM

Commerce ;)

That's debatable. Commerce girls might be smart. But lots of them have sand in their vaginas.

YAYY!! i made this thread interesting again :troll:

I'm in arts, prob all the hotties are doing psyc while i'm doing soc and econ therefore i'm :alone:

Mining 04-16-2012 02:12 AM

I'm in engineering and the hottest girls are... non-existant in our universe (not sure if i am willing to call the ones without dicks a girl). so the engineering guys hope to get lucky in their electives XD

i heard engineering students take like 6 courses a semester :rukidding: so do they grad before 4 years or what?

how many courses u doing?

kcl38 04-16-2012 03:38 PM

LFS is the opposite of engineering for the guy:girl ratio. Its set up so that there is 1 common class amongst everyone in each year level of the faculty (LFS 100, 250, 350, etc) so lots of chances to meet everyone. Lots of organic-natural-hippie types though :fuckthatshit:

LFS (Land and Food Systems) has a lot of chicks. I'm a MUG leader this coming September and when I went into the orientation it was like damn. I was the only guy in there. I'm not even messing with you ~25 girls in that room and me. Shit just got real.

"Regular" course load is 7 courses and if you do that for 4 years it's only your undergrad. Only a 1/4th of every first year cohort going into engineering will be able to do that.

It takes a combination of smarts, work ethic and living on campus (or commuting less than an hour a day) to be able to do it. That and very little sleep and very little socializing outside of the people you see in classes.

:\

What SeanJohn said...

it is a 4 year undergraduate program, although.... if you're like me it`ll take you 8 years LOL let's all hope I'm exaggerating :pokerface::alone:

No doubt, I'll be 6 years at UBC (including 16 months of co-op) until I actually grad next spring. What dept are you? I'm IGEN, hence the terrible exam schedule this time around.

It'll be my seventh year when I graduate next spring :alonehappy: I did 1.5 years in science and 2 years of co-op, though.

Finishing a bachelor's in engineering in 4 years is the case for maybe about 1/3 of the students, at least in ECE. The other 2/3 are in co-op.. or fail courses that are only offered for four months of the year. The ones that do finish within 4 years usually take summer school too.

MeowMeow 04-17-2012 01:35 PM

yeah, there's a pretty high demand for engineers nowadays... you might have to go to remote areas of BC, but there's a fair chance of getting hired after graduating... It would fucking suck if there wasn't... All the hard work that those engineering students put in to their studies lol
