You should see him in lectures, once he fingered the entire lecture and jumped on a table to dance.

Hi guys! I'm doing a survey for my Geography class regarding plastic bags in the Greater Vancouver Area.

If you could spare a few minutes of your time to answer the 14 questions in the survey I would greatly appreciate it. The survey itself should only take about 5-7 minutes to complete.

Thanks in advance!

Done. Interesting survey and topic. I'd consider using reusable bags if they charge more than 25 cents...

Completed the study.

Just finished my second psyc 102 midterm. Man, over reading break I turned into a keener to study for this midterm but some questions are really just so fucking vague that it makes you think the prof just wants to screw everyone over. Can't stand the majority of psyc profs.

Barely got any sleep for the past few days. I even wrote my name wrong on the scantron and forgot my student number :lawl:

dyan 03-01-2013 11:14 AM

LOL Finished survey.

Econ exam today :okay:

Sounds like you're having a rough day

Hey guys, for those transferred from Langara. I have a few questions.

https://you.ubc.ca/ubc/vancouver/pos...073C2D6F4324DB

So right now I have 39 credits. According to the site above, admission will be calculated using the most recent 30 credits. Since my first two semesters at Langara were horrible, I plan on getting 12 more credits (1 more semester at Langara) so UBC will only look at the more recent ones.

Now with that said, is there any requirements to transfer into the Arts faculty? I heard you need a math and English course in order to transfer, but the UBC transfer site doesn't mention that at all.

https://you.ubc.ca/ubc/vancouver/elas.ezc

Then I also have to meet one of the eight requirements above.

I didn't do well in English 12 or on the provincial exam, so is there some test I have to take to prove my proficiency in English?

MeowMeow 03-01-2013 07:04 PM

ubc art don't require math so not sure why you'd need a math course.

I couldn't tell the faculty requirements. It just kept linking me to the same original page that I outlined above regarding transfers.

Do I need to do an intro-level English course at Langara though?

Degree Requirements - Bachelor of Arts - The Faculty of Arts - Faculties, Colleges, and Schools - Vancouver Academic Calendar 2012/13 - UBC Student Services

Check this link out for degree requirement, how it still doesn't say anything about specific arts requirement. When i transferred in, I put down Arts as my second choice and I got it, but I didn't even bother going through the requirements. I did have a first year English and Math tho. I think you don't need it to transfer it, but you definitely need it to graduate.

Chances of passing a course with no final only a group project worth 20% if a 25% midterm is failed?

Energy 03-03-2013 10:21 PM

What's the other 55%?

Akinari 03-03-2013 10:36 PM

Quizzes 21% (best 7 out of 10 3% each)
Homework 20% (4 total 5% each) - I absentmindedly missed one so 15% and received 50% on my first assignment so only 2.5%
Final poster pres 20%
Tutorial 10%
Marking poster 4%

Really regret taking LING 100, I DO NOT EVER NEED TO USE LILLOOET SALISH OR KWAK'WALA :rukidding::okay:

dyan 03-03-2013 10:46 PM

No offense, but there are no real "gpa boosters" in school. There are only courses with lighter courseloads. If you heard from a friend that LING 100 was easy, :fuckthatshit:

OT: You can still pass the course. I've done worse on a midterm and passed. Hell I failed a 40% final and still passed :) Just put a bit more effort into the class. It's probably not helping that you're not interested in the course, but think of the bright side.. There's only a month left of class :D

Energy 03-03-2013 10:52 PM

You can still pass. But seriously how do you forget to turn in a 15% homework?

Akinari 03-03-2013 10:52 PM

I dunno, poli and psyc are coming off as gpa boosters to me, probably because I have an interest in them and studying for the exams are like reading interesting articles and learning new knowledge :fuckthatshit:

Nono, homework in total is 20% divided by 4. There are four assignments in total and I missed one, so I lose 5% of the total 20% I could've had. So the max mark I can get if I had received 100% on all 3 assignments is 15%

MeowMeow 03-03-2013 11:12 PM

Depends whether the course gets scaled or not I guess.
I once got 22% and 28% on two midterms, 60 on homework and Idk about final exam mark
But some how ended up with 50 (math 184 or something)
For ling project my TA shoved in some random guy in my group last min. Thank fucking god we had that dude cuz turns out he was this super hard core keener and he didn't trust us so he did all the work. All I did was print, cut and paste it on poster board LOL
So go find yourself a smart partner. & good luck!.
PS I think it was me that told you ling 100 was easy. Sorry :( I found that course quite easy

I know that feel RS bros. Always this time of year when everyone starts to feel overwhelmed. Exams, projects, finals coming up, uncertainty about what to do this summer, next year, etc.

You can all do it
