It's not really that. There's really 2 reasons.

1) It's a silent study library. Giggling and whispering to your friends for hours isn't really the place it's for.

2) If you were there for the guy eating, I'm sure you would complain too.. He was a good 3-4 tables away and I could hear it.

Two midterms on the same day and a paper due, both two weeks from now :okay:

In other news, I was probably the most depressed looking person on campus today.

Over studied for my POLI 100 midterm, thinking it'd be difficult so I simply skimmed past the basic ideas and studied till I dropped for the past two nights memorizing the difficult concepts and theories. The midterm turned out to be hilariously easy, but unfortunately for me, I didn't really know any of the content in depth as I skipped most of the easy stuff :okay:

And my first POLI 110 midterm mark came back today, and somehow I managed to pull off a 35% :okay:

Langara is calling :okay:

:okay:

was so tired I overslept on the b-line even after the bus arrived at the stop lol. the bus driver had to come over to wake me out of my coma

So I'm thinking of applying to UBC for their Asian Studies major. I'm probably going to apply with my high school grades considering my Langara grades are garbage.

I went onto the website, and it seems like it's over to apply for the remainder of this year. Registration generally opens during the summer for January 2014, right?

And just a quick question. If I apply with high school grades, can I transfer certain Langara courses over?

Energy 02-20-2013 09:48 PM

Yup, registration opens during the summer.

I think if you transfer some then you have to transfer all if its from the same institution. Not so sure on this though, maybe someone else will know.

Nlkko 02-21-2013 10:11 AM

Its technically against the rule to hide your grades from a post-secondary institution if you have previously been in post-secondary. You would have to submit all the grades from all institution you attend. If you dont and should they find out, you might be expelled from university.

That being said, there's very little way for them to find out if you dont tell them, unless somebody want to screw you over. The university has no motive to investigate.

And of course you cant "pick" the grades you want to transfer.... You transfer all or nothing....

MeowMeow 02-21-2013 12:30 PM

I'm doing a research on Canadian English
It'd be really appreciated if you guys could spare me 10min to do a short MC question survey
And pretty pretty please get your parents to do them too as I need respondents 30 years and up

Thanks in advance!

I see mine even though I didn't pay, maybe yours hasn't been determined yet :s

Nlkko 02-22-2013 01:14 PM

Summer courses? :fuckthatshit:

Don't waste your precious summer slaving away on books, phaggy profs and nerdy groupmates. For the most part, once you start working, you'll really miss it....

Akinari 02-23-2013 02:30 PM

EDIT: Finished your survey MeowMeow

LuHua 02-23-2013 03:53 PM

GGnoRE 02-23-2013 04:03 PM

Done survey. Please let us know the results and what they mean afterwards!

MeowMeow 02-23-2013 06:40 PM

Thanks everyone I really appreciate it :)

It's to study Chinese Canadian English variation within L1L2 (mother tongue vs non-MT)
Really looking for respondents above age of 30 so if your parents could fill it up too I'd really really appreciate it and you'd be helping out fellow UBC student :D

Thanks again everyone!
