I don't care if I get failed for this even though I sound like a fucking homo.

Skinnypup is a biiiiiiig FOIG

LiquidTurbo 10-29-2011 07:51 PM

After this thread I want to watch 300.

SkinnyPupp 10-29-2011 08:04 PM

I assume a lot of people want a response to this, so here goes. I just found this thread today, I was skipping it because I thought it was about the movie 300 :lol

So this reaction is pretty much the reason I kept fails disabled for mods including myself. Because instead of a huge 8 page gong show popping up after a year, it would be like this for pretty much every controversial post made. It would probably render the forum unusable.

I guess I have to admit that I used to be extremely rude on this forum (and others). I think it all just came out because of the anonyminity of the internet. For the same reason people say they don't care if someone talks shit about them on the internet, and can let "trolls" roll off their back. Nobody cares, so what the fuck, right?

Except I have found, and this thread is the perfect example, that people DO care. People DO care that they get 'failed' and they are really happy when they get 'thanked'. I figured that out eventually.

So I have tried to act more like how I might if someone was right in front of me. However, that only really works if all 'sides' have the same attitude. So while I was trying to act 'normal' to people, it never went the other way because of how I used to act. Whenever I disagreed with someone about something, even in a polite manner, there would be a huge backlash and threads would become derailed. Whenever I shared an opinion that was contrary to others, people immediately got REALLY upset, and the thread would become derailed. Whenever I would make a single joking troll remark (like a :seriously: face when someone asked a dumb question) people would pile on and get all mad, and another thread would derail. So I found that acting 'normal' on the internet doesn't work either, unless it goes both ways.

And then we get to this point, where some people want so bad to rage at me, a huge thread appears with everyone piling on. I didn't read the whole thing, but the bottom line seems to be that people are mad that they can't fail me. There were some pretty sad attempts at trying to analyze my real life personality (like saying I moved to Asia because of low self esteem.. what the fuck is that about? Yeah I wish I had the confidence to deal with white people. I am so intimidated by them, good thing these little asians are easier to deal with right? :fulloffuck: ). The saddest case is RRXtar who got REALLY mad that I misspelled his name a couple times, and resorted to making fun of my physique and diet because I failed him in the MMA thread? :seriously:

All I can say is, if you think you know anything about me from this forum, you are probably wrong. You might get some things, for instance I like video games, tech stuff, tattoos, MMA, weight lifting, I am a libertarian, and apparently am nihilistic... But aside from that, all the name-calling is just based on forum reputation more than reality. If you follow me on twitter, you might get a better idea of who I really am.

Anyway, there's nothing much more to say. This is just another case of a few sour apples who I offended in the past, and everyone else piling on. So yeah, nothing new to see here. I will apologize to the folks I have offended in the past though. I know I have had some cases of bad attitude before.

All I can say is, I will put more effort into TRYING to treat others as if they were in the same room with me. It is something I will have to consciously think of every time I make a post. At the same time, I hope others will make the same effort. I think Revscene will benefit greatly if everyone did so.

It fixes everything, LOL.

haha13 10-29-2011 08:25 PM

And for the record, he's a network admin, not a mod.

Creating controversy is good n' all, but everyone has to be willing to accept differences, conflicts and most importantly, you cannot be 100% correct on every issue/topic. I just find it funny when he criticizes the Chinese or North Korean government then turns around to deleting posts, thanks because we are "ganging up on him" and being completely immune to fails.

I remember when Ad Bot started making the 'Learn how to make fast cash today on the internet!' threads...I replied with something like 'O Rly, tell me more' and I got points for 'Misuse of Revscene' and 'Deconstructive Flaming'. LOL let me know when flaming is constructive.

Vansterdam 10-29-2011 08:28 PM

instead of making new threads or bitching about it, people could just fail you :)

problem solved?

boss_clad 10-29-2011 08:34 PM

well, SP's also right about the immaturity of the failers.

maybe when people are able to distinguish between a valid opinion, and an obvious fail, then maybe this system wouldn't be as fucked as it is.

MG1 10-29-2011 08:39 PM

I don't know, guys. I think the guy just apologized and admitted he was not proud of his past. Not enough? You guys need to go fuck your girlfriends more often or kick the dog or something.

shawn79 10-29-2011 08:40 PM

skinnypupp opens his fail

Wow props to Skinny for actually opening his fail button

SkinnyPupp 10-29-2011 08:53 PM

Well I am agreeing to treat people as if they were in the same room as me. I want to see if others will do the same. I know of a few people who won't, that's for sure.
