I met either a server or manager from there when I was super blackout drunk(as was he). Really nice dude. Heard many good things. Really cool looking location too. Menu looks SUPER old school italian though. I dig it, but seems it could be a little more exciting considering the prices.

Nice place, cool decor, definitely more of an old-school style of fare. Had my wedding there.

Make sure to have the white chocolate phyllo dessert...I hoarded them at my reception, lol.

BaoTurbo 01-11-2012 02:30 PM

Dine out last year at Sip lounge was ok. I mean yea I would have low expectations but the steak was not that bad

Mr.HappySilp 01-11-2012 02:38 PM

LOl didn't even book any yet. Waiiting for my potient date to see if she wants to go.....
Honestly though I don't think it will be that good compare to before.
Haven't been to dine out for a few years now winsce it went down hill I htink 3years ago........

Most of the more popular places were booked up last week for the AMEX holders.

subordinate 01-11-2012 05:48 PM

If water street cafe is the same as it was 3 years back. :heckno:

Long wait times for your entrees' (seriously, a long wait) if its' moderately busy, due to sheer kitchen size (one person - app and 2 ppl entree/fry)

Not to mention, food quality standards. I'd stay away if its' the same owner. A heads up.

Do you get priority if you have an AMEX card?

shawnly1000 01-13-2012 09:55 PM

You get to see the menu a few days ahead of the public release date of Jan 9th.

You can make a reservation for a day that falls during dine out at the place you want to go before the menus are out, lots of people do this when they know that the menu will be similar to last year's, e.g. Chambar

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 01-14-2012 02:52 PM

booked at water st. never been so hopefully it'll be a good experience.

To those asking about:

La Terrazza, use to come here for work parties and did dine out here once. Great atmosphere but food is average IMO

Water St Cafe, terrible terrible service and quality of food. Will never go back.

Tourist trap restaurant, that's how they are still surviving. Locals know its' nothing but that.
