This actually happened when I worked at Whole Foods back in the day. A customer also returned an almost fully eaten pizza. Some people are completely comfortable being the scum of society.

hi-5 on kingsway by old orchard mall (kingsway/willingdon) low key continued their 10 drum stick for $20 special.

i probably ate that way more than i should. not sure if it was still running but it was a couple weeks ago. it was advertised as a summer special but i think they just kept it going without advertisements you just walk in and they still did it.

Has anyone tried the Chicko Chicken sandwich for $5.99? Decent, lots of choices in terms of flavour. On appearance, it is kinda small but very tasty. Good snack.

hi-5 isn't as salty or oily as churches which is the gold standard.
wife doesn't think it's as good as churches i think it's just as - if you're looking for a less salty option. i guess you can argue it's not as bland or flavorful in that sense but i would not agree with that personally.

What are your thoughts on the 5-year hold? I use them just for the apple promotion every year but I still use the big 4 banks for day-to-day banking.

Yeah that's a tough one. On one hand, I think long term Wealthsimple is just where I want to park my money long term anyway and the hold isn't relevant.

On the other, it kinda seems like there will always be promos and it'd be good to be able to ping pong between brokerages.

I actually just saw that Questrade is right now running 4% cashback over 2 years. That's insane.

I'm in the same boat as RabidRat. Long term, I think WealthSimple is where I want to park my money. External promos are relatively immaterial to me. For day-to-day banking, I still use a traditional Big 4 bank but have gotten used to managing a majority of it via WealthSimple.

So I need a USB (flash) drive that has a USB C plug bcos the newer computers at work mostly do not have a free USB A slot anymore.

Scrolling through Memory Express / Canada Computers / Amazon, most seem to go for $18 - $40-ish, depending on the brand / storage capacity. I don't really care how big the drive is since even just 32GB would be bigger than anything I could ever need it for. But even at $20, it is far too much $$$ than what I am willing to pay for. (I am really more used to the dead slow $5 for 32GB stuff since that's all I really need.)

And then I thought of AliExpress. I would never trust that a flash drive being advertised there as a Sony flash drive to actually be a Sony flash drive. But at anywhere between $0.99 for a 32GB drive, to $2 for 2TB, do I even care what brand they are, or whether they'd be DOA? For the same amount of money that I would be spending to buy from ME/CC/AMZN, I can buy 10 knock off drives from AliExpress. At least 1 of them has gotta work, right?

And FWIW, as a joke, I bought 2 generic branded TF cards (ie. micro SD cards) from AliExpress during the Black Friday sales for dirt cheap -- probably something like $2 - $3 per card. They were made in Shzenshen and branded under some Shzenshen technology company. They were also significantly faster (ie. higher data transfer speed) than the few brand name low-end cards that I already had.

Personally, I find all this a little ironic. But it is what it is, and I am not going to deny factual truths.
