I've (nearly) finished de-modding the engine bay. I just need to figure out where the exhaust heat shield ended up, repaint the battery tiedown, tidy up the fog light wiring and make the boost controller bracket more subtle.

if it doesn't sell the BOV and strut bar are going back on though.

After many years of work, and work schedules too busy for racing...the Escort has made it through tech at its first stage rally! 
Car number 13...hmmm, hope he keeps it on the road! 
I'm the service crew this weekend, at Kananaskis rally. Should be a good time.

Essentially, you're using a fine abrasive which you rub and on to smooth out the plastic headlamp.

+1 for plastix clear polish.
Never tried toothpaste, tho I've heard it works well.
Only issue I've found with the clear polish is that sometimes it will only last a couple of months before starting to oxidize again.
Does the uv protectant slow it from oxidizing?

So today I adjusted the fuel pressure, idle, and sync'd the carbs...as well as a tire off general nut and bolt check.
A few hours later, I had to re-adjust the alternator tension which had come loose, repair the wires that tore out, repair the coolant overflow hose which was damaged, remove the windshield washer reservoir, hose and mangled wiring (came off in a rough section), and then with the time left confirm no damage to the rear end after a big hit, and a front to back nut and bolt check.
...but I suppose it was all worth it. Warwick put the Escort on the 3rd spot of the 2wd podium. :P

Does the uv protectant slow it from oxidizing? | UV protectant only delays the plastic from oxidizing. It's best to spray paint UV resistant clear coat. The 2k clear coat are best.
After doing the clear coat, compound and then polish the headlight to get the least amount of hazing.

I installed a backup camera in my Element this weekend. Bit of a project taking the entire interior out but was worth it as I rewired all my cables for my stereo while the floor was out. Only thing I might change is where I mount the camera. I wanted it so I could back up to my trailer easier but I mounted it to high and I can't adjust the angle so I may have to redo it.
Berz out.

Mazda has poor sound insulation, putting some sound deadening shit on while have some new speakers installed 
First time doing this kind of stuff, kind of ghetto 
I got these mat for cheap, so why not? engine sound comes out from both fender and grill, don't suggest people to do it unless you have nothing better to do  | |

Purchased cheapest wipers from Cnaadian tire (had to go to grandview/boundary store to get em), they have worked wicked for me on all other cars.
Installed em.
While filling up gas applied a nice coat of rain x as well.
That feel as water beads right off when you're driving.
So overall, I can see nice and clear out my front window now with new wipers and rain x. woop.

Just drove from White Rock -> Vancouver on 99, with RainX, I did not even have to turn on the wipers hahaa. Water beaded right off.

I think the Michelin wipers at Costco is a better deal than the cdn tire ones. But if I recall the cdn tire ones are treated with rain x.

445pm tire appointment at Costco Willingdon. Didn't get the car back until 630. Store is supposed to close at 6! Wasn't too impressed with how long it took to mount a new set of tires but it's that time of year and the bays were still full when I picked my car up. Hope 320icar and all the other tire technicians are all making OT!

I just get wipers from Costco, they're like $9 each and midrange ones. Then I do the same as 320 and just chuck em fairly often, I think wiper blades are only supposed to last like 6 months anyways.

Yeah, same. I usually get the Motomaster Teflon ones. They're probably best bang for buck imo. Classic metal frame style, quiet operation and clear results. I try not to go for the cheap cheap ones. They tend to be streaky right off the bat and noisy as well. Might as well spend a couple more bucks to make my drive a bit more enjoyable/safe.
OEM refills... well you would expect it to be cheaper. But i'll let you know at my work, refills for a Sentra are $63 bucks. You could get two or three seasons (18 months minimum!!) worth of wiper blades for that money. LOL.

I bought fancy Bosch ones for my Lexus at Walmart in the USA like 3 years ago and they still work great. That said I park in a parkade not out in the elements.
