Can you swap the cushions and mount the 3rd seatbelt from a non-R civic hatch?

red kryptonite 09-30-2024 04:51 PM

I don’t think typeR owners are too concerned with not being able to fit 4 passengers haha

After searching for 7 years, I finally found a hard top for my Boxster.

It's a black hardtop so it's not the ideal colour, but it works. So much cooler inside the cabin/interior of the car, and a lot less wind/road noise. Had to drive all the way to London, ON to pick this up from a former Boxster owner. I just did a track weekend at CTMP and wished I had this before.

Changed out from track pads to street pads.

Don't sound like the Skytrain any more.

Fuck the winding rear calipers though. That shit sucked.

Fronts took 20 mins TOTAL.

Rears took 1.5 hours.

EDIT: I need the proper rewind tool, not the dumb little cube.

Black Hardtop are great, goes with every color, easy to sell if you ever needed to tbh.

It's acceptable with a name brand exhaust. With a rep/droney exhuast, it is absolutely deafening in the back. I don't drive people in the back knowing that they will definitely get an insane headache.

Yes, the rains are coming. I will still be doing auto-x but street pads are better for that anyways.

What a terrible thing to say to a broski.

Just terrible.

You're just jealous cuz you didn't think of it first

W203 was having a "crank but no start when hot" issue, after dying in the Costco parking lot two months ago.

Went down the list of classic W203 issues starting from the simplest, Spark Plugs, MAF, Crankshaft Position Sensor which is notorious for "crank but no start when hot" issues...

Based on its location this little guy is constantly getting cooked between the engine and the transmission, this was a pain in the dick.

Still no bueno. No vacuum leaks at all, did a smoke test...

Never thought it'd be a fuel issue because it would start, idle, rev up to 4K (limited when not in D) just fine when cold, it'd stall out when put in gear though... that should've been a big clue.

Never thought to test the fuel pressure. :okay:

Fuel pump was the issue, only pushing 22 PSI to the injectors instead of 55 PSI. :ahwow:

Fired right up.

Turns out a 19 year old FP can and does crap out when it gets warm! Shockingly easy to change fuel pump, for a Benz, lmfao.

2 months this thing sat in the garage, dozens of skinned knuckles, finally... she's back... but who cares, the Swedish barge has replaced it.

Now to decide what to do with it, lol.

Idk man, its supercharged... :awwyeah:

but its 1.8L BibleThump

There's a fucking sick white 2003 C32 AMG for sale, upkeeping that thing would bankrupt me though.

68style 10-07-2024 07:44 PM

I came really, really close to buying a C32 but glad I didn't, it had the bearing whine on the supercharger after I did some research on problems... and basically every form of literature out there said the C55 was the car to get, C32 is just unnecessary trouble.

JDMDreams 10-08-2024 04:07 AM

A manual c230 coupe is kinda cool, c32 is early year so basically you have all the early Gen issues. C55 is facelift so everything is ironed out + you get all the revisions, nicer interior.

i did oil changes on 3 cars. Ratrolla has like 9500kms on it, and its the 4th oil change ive done on it lawl. 6 month or 7000km, whatever comes first.

Lexus wants 300 dollars for a oil change and they do it WRONG because they over tighten the damn filter and occasionally overfill it too.

Camry = 6qts of kirkland 5w30 synthetic (so like 1.5 bottles) worked out to be 26 dollars + 9 dollar OEM toyota filter + 1.30 washer for the drain plug = $36.30.

RX = 6qts of kirkland 0w20 synthetic (1.5 bottles again) 26 bucks + 9 dollar filter OEM toyota filter + 1.30 washer for drain plug = $36.30

Ratrolla = 7.8qts of Castro EDGE 5w30 (basically 2 bottles worth) 90 bucks + 12 dollar OEM filter + 1.30 drain plug washer = $103.30.... yikes this isnt such a good deal in comparison to the v6 engines.

I know where you live

Badhobz 10-08-2024 09:03 AM

yah i saw you were throwing out a lot of shrubbery or some shit the other day too. Stop chopping down trees!

JDMDreams 10-08-2024 05:39 PM

Hobz oil change meat, we'll wait in your mansion while you service the cars.

Badhobz 10-08-2024 06:51 PM

Da savings bros !!!! The da savings. It’s like a Chinamans ideal dream.

I saved like 700 bucks doing these 3 oil changes myself. That’s enough to fund my Amazon prime day spending today

underscore 10-08-2024 07:01 PM

I'm mid oil change spree as well, did my Celica and my grandmas Escape so far and the Grand Cherokee is next. For the first time ever I ran into a defective filter that didn't thread on fully, of course it was on the Escape where you're working half blind and it made a huge mess on my driveway. At least I caught it immediately so the only damage was to my pride.

Badhobz 10-08-2024 07:48 PM

It’s so satisfying doing your own oil changes. Maybe cuz I’m an old fuck, but hearing the clicks on the torque wrench is like so , so , sooooo satisfying.
