Yuck that rev hang is bs. At least the hitlerbox doesn’t have that.
To get this Si to this level aren’t you a negligible distance to the type R ? | Quote:

About halfway to it... FL5 is $55k+ and hard to get
This thing is $38k-ish and probably 8-10k in mods? Skip the ugly wheels haha | Revhang - stock. Even the FK8 has it. Tbh, revhang was evident in 8th gen civic si's as well. It's pretty common Honda thing. It's not as bad in the 11th gen civics, but clearly still evident. I'm not sure if this works in the 11th gen, but in the FK8 the revhang is gone if you turn off auto revmatch.
My friend bought a Civic Si after his FK8 got tboned. It was 42K or smt. Awful car stock lol. We used it as a track taxi for lols but it's so bad. https://youtu.be/eDL_4To-vBg?si=O0D1mlyCL6ocB31s https://youtu.be/95KYBrqDsy4?si=d1fMqApA2IxSbhj7 https://youtu.be/ag5-R_0HK48?si=U0Ew_KlFWPgrNKuS
As someone who bought a non-M e46 and have tried to make it as worthy on track as an E46 M3... it's not worth it. No matter what mods you throw at it, you might as well have gotten the M3 (or in this case the Type R) in the first place. Quote:

Honda claims that the L15B can't do more than 200hp without impacting reliability - I'm guessing because it was developed as a economy car motor that it was never designed to be boosted like the GR Corolla model - it was introduced in 2001 and started at 77hp in the 1.2L version and 89hp in the 1.5L version. It seems to have had quite a few issues over the years (head gasket, gas getting into the oil) unlike the K engine. | Here's a reliability thread for all tuned 10th gen civics, including the 1.5L.
Ofc this thread only has data of a limited sample size - those that contribute, but nevertheless are some data points. |
