They are supposed to put that condom on the rear wiper so it doesn't do that. Your car wash attendant fucked up

It was the front passenger wiper.

It's an automatic car wash.

I've not seen it whip a front wiper off before.

Same.

The roller flipped the wiper up and then took the wiper blade and bent the arm. It looks super gimped now.

There's a surprising lack of touchless car washes in the GTA, it's kind of surprising.

Ditto.

The one I normally go to "was" touchless" and then they upgraded to this stupid one with the rolling red foam pads. Ugh!

That's what you get for not washing your car by hand.

I washed my cars today using my own fluids.

WTF?! Back when I was living / studying in ON, it was so easy to find touchless car washes at gas stations (in Toronto).

It’s 5am. I woke up and had this thought…. 992.2….. the next one would be 993 ?!?!? 993 !?!? The old air cooled one ?!? What the fuck is wrong with these beetle fuck heads?!

Why did they go from 997 back down to 991 ?

I’m angry and it’s only 5am.

If anything, I think my track days accelerated its wear and the Porsche Gods decided yesterday was the day to snap them.

Re: Red lights and 3rd only - Ouch - that must have sucked.
Shop got the car onto the lift today. Turns out the shifter cable collar became disloged from the sheath and caused the cable to bind. Only remedy is to replace. Date code on the cable sheath shows 2001*, so likely these are original, and it has the original cable part number. The cables have gone through 4 revisions.

Remember, these are just shifter cables. For your entertainment.
- Porsche Canada - $1450 before taxes. 3 - 4 week lead time from Germany. None in stock in Canada.
- Porsche USA / various dealers - $950 to $1150 USD before taxes and exchange, and shipping etc. Availability is mixed. Two shops I checked did not have them in stock despite showing availability.
- Porsche dealer in France: In stock and ready to ship - 2 day arrival. $950 after currency exchange and shipped. Taxes not included.
- Numeric Racing aftermarket cables - $1350 after taxes, duties, shipping, exchange etc. Available immediately.

Took my chance and ordered factory cables from the dealer in France. Track day is July 19/20.

Guys, the P-car tax is real. I miss paying BMW and Toyota prices for parts.

I don't really have an opinion other than what my local PCA guys have shared and on forums.

1. Factory is the most street'able and reliable
2. Numeric is more notchy and "improves" performance from an experience/racing perspective, but no word on the street on reliability. They introduce a lot more NVH and can get loud, but that's all I've really heard. Update: Those who have these cables almost always recommend them.

Edit: CAE also makes a racing shifter and their own cables, but it's pretty ballin' and better for racing applications, which is not my use case. Reviews on them is that they are A+ / the Bees Knees, but limited to a handful of reviews on say Rennlist.

I knew it was bad on the other models but I thought the Boxster was supposed to be reasonable. I guess that's all relative lol.

Back to window shopping for E46s and random old Japanese stuff for me then lol.

bcrdukes misses abusive relationships. He misses spending $2k on replacement E30 plastic cooling parts that are engine adjacent and guaranteed to rupture again in a few years of daily driving.

He can't miss buying Toyota parts prices because Toyotas never need parts, so I don't even know why he said that.
