does remanufactured mean it's used parts that they spruce up and put back into a package? or does it mean it's some guy copying the original OEM part but using "similar" materials and recreating it.

^ That’s where your core returns go

yray 11-07-2025 07:40 PM

I bought reman'd calipers one time and had to reman'd them myself after it started leaking after the first drive.

And then I reman'd my original calipers because the reman'd reman'd calipers were spongy.

injectors are a funny cat, I got lucky and replaced my lucas injectors (they were 100 each new) with bosch fox body mustang injectors and it worked

Makes sense, old Rovers are not what I would call precise machines :lol

oh no, rovers can be picky as fuck

one time I brought a centric master cylinder from rockauto expecting it to be decent but it caused all my brakes to lock up after driving for 20 mins. All the forums said the only solution was to buy a oem trw master cylinder from UK for $300+

thought I would be do the final touch by swapping the tailgate to a non rusty one on the rage rover

ended up shattering the tailgate

luckily it was the old one that shattered :lol

Partition! :ahwow:

I've always wondered if partitioning is better or not. Maybe better if you rent that side out?

I like the Target handbasket. Lansdowne location? :troll:

I did rent it out to my wife :troll:

the garage was built in the 80s and cars grew alot since so the partitioning is a PITA, my RR is parked like 3in from the wall to get my little 2ft walkway infront of my bench. sucks big time when I need to work on the passenger side of the truck

otherside is basically the same, 2ft clearance on both sides but I put the fridge and random junk in there so its driver access only from the garage

JDMDreams 11-09-2025 09:17 PM

So what's so good about these old ranges? I watched some review lately and apparently they only have like 200hp :rukidding:

yray 11-10-2025 09:02 AM

I do it for the grief:troll:.

They are pretty easy to work on, they just get a bad rap because they are high maintenance and no RR owner will fork out money on maintenance.

The P38 is special though, mechanically its decent, its the electronics that's screwy and diagnosing takes a lot of patience. (usually its just corroded joints).

Badhobz 11-10-2025 09:06 AM

I always think eventually Yray will graduate to something like this

Installed a new downpipe and turbo inlet on my Golf. Flashed APR ECU and TCU tunes.

TRADED.

Goodbye my reliable friend of 5yrs/3months - 2021 RDX A-SPEC
https://i.imgur.com/iQVWyVq.jpg

Hello my new friend for the next 10yrs!!! - 2024 RDX A-SPEC
https://i.imgur.com/Qp3XCTf.png
https://i.imgur.com/ws1sia3.png

Why?
- enhanced drive modes - improved throttle response
- quieter cabin
- improved/faster infotainment with FULL screen carplay/AA
- Wireless AA / Carplay
- rear camera washer
- rear hands free trunk release via kick sensor
- courtesy lighting (puddle lights and side mirror lights)
- Ambient in-cabin lighting with customizable colors
- wireless QI charging pad
- VERY good trade in value for my previous 2021 (clean carfax/no accidents/no claims)

EvoFire 12-18-2025 10:36 AM

What's very good trade in value? I would assume a 21 is worth around 35k?

Have they made any changes to the drivetrain over the last few years? I actually really like how the RDX drives when we test drove it, but the tranny's occasional retarded decisions made me decide not to get it.

2019-2021 drive was a bit rough, underwhelming unless in SPORT+ mode.

2022+ (refreshed) completely refined with smooth delivery on all drive modes and shifting thru gears.

my 2021 had 78,000km. $33k trade.

Would it have been better if you just leased it the first time around? IIRC the RDX Aspec was around 60k when we were shopping for it in 2019.

RabidRat 12-18-2025 11:01 AM

How's the trackpad work with CarPlay? Does it let you hover over different buttons in the UI, and you just press down on the trackpad to select? Is the screen also touch enabled (even if you have to lean forwards a little)?

Badhobz 12-18-2025 11:04 AM

i guess its the same model year or something? they look exactly the same.

I have a 2019 RDX. Trackpad just works like arrow keys. You swipe around to the buttons. It works fine in Carplay.

The screen is not touch enabled, and is positioned so far away it wouldn't be accessible if it was.

headhunt3r 12-18-2025 11:06 AM

If it's anything lime the Carplay experience with a trackpad on a Lexus, would not recommend. You mouse around and the hover moves around. Click to select. Sometimes pop ups like maps notifications come with a button that you cant mouse or click into.

Totally different. The claws around the fogs, are now replaced with vertical vents :-D

FWIW, I was offered $30k for my 2019 that has 60k a few months ago but Burrard Acura.

It was around $50k+ taxes - Burrard Acura had agreed to $56k after taxes when I was shopping before I found a low mileage demo at Campus Acura that I got for $50k.

I *hate* with the anger of a thousand suns. The latest iOS update with liquid glass makes it even worse as the highlight colour makes it really hard to tell what's selected and, in some cases, like showing recently played albums you can't actually select certain items.

That Acura reversed it on the MDX in half a generation speaks volumes to how horrible a system it is.

SSM_DC5 12-18-2025 07:59 PM

You guys are a small sample size, but any of you experience the shattering rear windshield?

RabidRat 12-18-2025 08:30 PM

Didn't that happen to Supa's RDX a while ago?
