I come back with two or three at most.

I just declare it as "gas"

And one six pack of beer on top of that

if they ask you just say gas, they never ask how many liters. So if they pop your trunk and see Jerry cans, it's not like you lied about it

My late VW 1.8T used to run worse on Esso. The difference wasn't huge, but it was noticeable -- the engine runs a bit smoother and revs better on other gas.

Then again, this is probably 10+ years ago, and at the time, Esso gas was reported to have a higher sulphur content than Chevron, Shell, Petro Canada, and Sunoco.

$3.77 per US Gal in Sumas, Wa. If $ at par, that translates to 99 cents per litre.

Of course, our dollar is low right now.

As for octane in gas, it does make a difference for those cars that need it. High compression engines and those that are supercharged or turbo'd, for sure. My truck gains average 10 hp with premium and is needed when towing. I learned this the hard way pulling close to 5000 lbs up Jackass Pass on the way to Eagle Motorplex up in Ashcroft. For most other cars, it is not worth paying the extra.

Cars designed to run on higher octane can handle lower grade gas, as the electronics will compensate, but it will run poorly.

My little commuter car gets nothing but the cheapest gas available and it runs like a champ.

I love that gas prices in PR are still significantly cheaper than here, but a bit annoyed their gas prices fluctuate at the same pace as ours, always working out to about $0.20-25/L cheaper. 2 Weeks ago regular was 1.04/L, 2 weeks before that it was 0.97/L. Gas in Blaine was 3.73/g for me last week, so under $1/L
