When is it going to launch in Canada? Might have missed it in this thread...

^The resolution is the same. The PPI dropped though because of the slightly bigger screen.

if you wanna get technical over 80 pixels it's actually slightly higher
the original Note had WXGA 1280 x 800

Just tested out the Note 1 LTE, the dual core (with Android 4.0.3) is now laggy comparing with the S3, but the internet speed definitely makes people smile. Hopefully the Note 2 LTE (Quadcore) will come to the stores in October, then no need to carry the Asus transformer around or to wait for the TF700 LTE :)

I felt the same thing using the Rogers' Note running official 4.0.3. It just doesnt feel snappy.

So it doesnt look like the NOTE II will support AWS, will there be a hack like for the N7000 to work with AWS?

Or will they come out with another version like the NOTE I (T879 model)??

GLOW 09-01-2012 07:35 AM

no AWS? dam it

Woops. You're right.

BaoTurbo 09-01-2012 04:31 PM

Note II, S3, or iPhone 5 based on overall values which will you pick. Because I have an iPhone 4 and I'm kinda sick of it, let alone the iPhone 5 unless there's imense amount of upgrades. I wanted to try the S3 but it's getting old and I have always wanted a bigger phone since I watch drama and such on it or videos more. So I might pick the Note II when it comes out. Thoughts?

asian_XL 09-01-2012 05:22 PM

imo
- S3 is an ideal SMART PHONE for majority
- Note 2 is a tab and for people with big fingers.
- Iphone 5 is great if you own a Macbook / iMac, very easy to use, design is never a question, a lot of accessories, and I absolutely love the stability of its games and softoware

BaoTurbo 09-02-2012 02:34 AM

Hmm rather S3 or the 5 then I guess. Almost time for a HUP

Tim Budong 09-02-2012 12:51 PM

Very unimpressed with Samsung's own JELLYBEAN on the s3. THey crapped on it.while still fast, it not as buttery smooth as I wanted it to be.

LTE...2GB RAM...HD screen :suspicious:

it's only been out for 2 months dude

GLOW 09-02-2012 03:29 PM

it's 2 months old :troll:

Tim Budong 09-02-2012 03:30 PM

Older. Try 4 lol

asian_XL 09-02-2012 08:02 PM

I would want LTE > processor speed. Unfortunately, LTE is still data only :( need a secondary phone just for that.

You know that feeling when everyone talks about it and stuff then it seems like the phone is getting overrated and talked about constantly. That's what I feel now but I do like the specs on S3.

I was hoping the Note II could be even bigger upgrade than S3 because I always like to watch movies and such on my phone rather than computer. I like my things on the go, even on the throne :)

Samsung Galaxy Note II vs Samsung Galaxy S III - YouTube

If anyone is interested

FerrariEnzo 09-09-2012 06:23 PM

Wow. SVoice is sooo much slower on the NoteII...

asian_XL 09-27-2012 10:14 PM

Just tested it out in HK, there's a roadshow in Tai Koo Mall.

I really like the size until I tried to dial, my thumb can't reach "1" on the dial pad with my right hand or "3" with my left hand. Everyone around has to dial with two hands, just like the original Note. Definitely a no if you like to talk while driving.

The S voice is quick over here and S Pen is wonderful, no lag

I'm almost tempted to jump ship to Wind just for this phone. My only issue is I use my phone for work and if the phone doesn't have reception at home, I lose sales.

Does anyone know how well Wind's service is up on SFU? I know Telus sucked badly when I first moved to SFU 5 years ago.

In the buildings, or at the Univercity area?

In the SFU campus buildings, anything that doesn't have a lower band (700/850) gets no reception.

I can't speak for the Univercity, but buy me a coffee and I'll drive up the mountain. We can test my phone at your place.

Univercity. Thanks for the offer but I think I will wait for the Note II to come out first. With my SGS, I know there are a few dead spots along Gaglardi. :okay:
