Maybe they're telling everyone to hold off on sales by saying its delayed because they don't want everyone to have one before tonight's launch party in Toronto with psy. Maybe it'll launch tmr.

It is called a launch party for a reason

If that were the case then the stores still would have received their shipments (I think) but wouldn't be able to release them for sale until after the release party. They should have just said Nov. 1 (hopefully they arrive by then) from the get go, after the release party date.

I don't think many people are buying them in the States. People seem to be more interested in getting a Jelly Bean update on the S3. Unfortunately, only Verizon has released it thus far.

I failed everyone, no phone. Checked with the WIND guy and he said it's delayed, seems like no stock anywhere :(

It's being advertised because the announced release date was Oct. 30, the problem is that none of the shipments came in. I'm suspecting that the phones probably had the old firmware which wouldn't allow for split screen functions, so maybe Samsung held back the units to send them out with the current firmware.

They could, but it has to go through each separate carriers system (Rogers, telus, etc...) and they always add their crap in with it. Plus you'd have a lot more pissed off people if they got their devices and realized that that function doesn't work and have to wait for an update. The blow back from that would be bigger than shipping the devices out late.
