Question is would he keep Luongo in while getting lit up for 9 goals? Le Trade

It's been almost 2 weeks since Gillis' press conference, you'd think that some sort of announcement would be made by now. Maybe waiting to see what Tippet is going to do? It's getting a bit weird. If AV is here next year, any faith I had in GMMG will be gone.

AFAIK firings/hirings/trades and what not are "announced"/can only be made after the playoffs are done?

Pretty sure you can fire/hire whenever you want...trades can't be made until draft day which I believe is June 30th this year.

This is also when Coaching contracts end.

So if you're looking for Tippet, you'll have to wait till then as well. Until then, he is Phoenix's property.

True dat!

Just read on TSN that Nashville fired and hired a new assistant coach. Trotz still head coach.

Not really racist! 05-21-2013 04:54 PM

The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Saturday that their captain will not need surgery after suffering a third-degree sprain of his MCL at the world hockey championships on Thursday in Sweden.

Eric Staal needed to be helped off the ice after he was involved in a knee-on-knee collision with Sweden's Alex Edler.

In a release, the Hurricanes said Staal's rehabilitation is set to take about three months and he is expected to be ready for the start of the 2013-14 NHL season.

Edler, who was given a game misconduct for kneeing, was suspended for the remainder of the IIHF tournament on Friday.

Staal had three assists in eight games with Team Canada at the tournament. The team was eliminated by Sweden in the quarterfinals.
Don't think an injury update been posted so here ya go..
Edler can sleep easy now...

fuck boston

punkwax 05-21-2013 06:17 PM

Easy to hate Boston for what they did to the Canucks, but also easy to respect their game right now.

spideyv2 05-21-2013 06:34 PM

Bruins play with heart

wrong, they can be made at any time. if the player is acquired after the trade deadline they are ineligible for the playoffs. tim erixon got traded in june 2011 during the playoffs, checkmanek once in may during the playoffs. bettman and his cronies dont like it though as it takes away from the playoff spotlight, especially if its a big trade

Forgot the Canuck killer Sidenberg is about to return for the Bruins.

Dude, I feel for LA. The officiating is like canucks vs. sharks.

Mike Oxbig 05-21-2013 08:01 PM

NBA screw job to hype up hockey in California?

Watching all these playoff games, i think the Canucks should keep David Booth and give him a chance... but sign another top six scoring winger.

murd0c 05-21-2013 08:13 PM

Saw on TSN that they expect AV to be fired Thursday or Friday

SkinnyPupp 05-21-2013 08:43 PM

Wow the Sharks are looking a lot better than they did against the Canucks. Thought the Kings would roll over them but I guess not

They look exactly the same to me...they played well against us, and they are playing well against LA.

Based on what I saw from both of their performances in round 1, I called Kings in 7 before this series started.

Mike Oxbig 05-21-2013 09:00 PM

I think the only team that can beat the Bruins are the Sharks...

Refs helping the sharks all game today

I'm pretty sure you'd be one of the only people to say that... but whenever I disagree with you, you start attacking me so I'll just say I disagree with you and leave it at that :hotbaby:

Well, I havent read anywhere else from any writer that the Sharks played poorly in round 1, and I also don't see any predictions that have Kings winning in less than 6 games....

Quote:

It will be interesting to see if the Sharks can pick up where they left off after getting a full week off.
It should be a close series and any edge could be the difference. I suspect this series will go to seven games and at that point, I think the Kings should edge the Sharks with the backing of the Staples Centers’ crowd.

If both teams maintain their level of play — and if both continue to get great goaltending from Antti Niemi and Jonathan Quick — we could be in for a long Golden State series. Sharks in 7.
