I so remember the milkman dropping off bags and bottles of milk back in the day. That Tiger Tiger ice cream was awesome when that stuff came out for summer.

Coming home from the states about a month ago at about 11pm. Every single car was BC plates from Bellingham I-5 all the way back to the border! I can imagine how it can be weird and annoying if I were a bellingham resident to see that. Plus the inconsiderate left lane hoggers lol.

duy- 08-16-2012 05:10 PM

sorry i skipped 8 pages, but if you park like that, does it matter whether you're canadian or american? i think douche is universal

Ronin 08-16-2012 07:36 PM

Makes it really hard to support the local economy when we can drive half an hour and save 25% or more off our food bill. Actually, come to think of it, I buy most things down in the States apart from the things that are cheaper here...like electronics at NCIX.

Bellingham would be shit without Canadians shopping down there. It would be nothing. Less business = less jobs in Bellingham.

is it not there anymore? :tears:

fliptuner 08-16-2012 08:14 PM

Sadly yes but they're not far away.

Avalon Dairy - Certified Organic Milk Products

Oh and I think the bagged milk thing is only in Ontario and East now (plus some places in Europe and S.America)

Well, its a college town with two military bases and serves as the main transit hub to Sitka, Alaska. It would survive.

Ronin 08-17-2012 12:41 AM

With zero Canadian traffic, it would be a ghost town compared to now with tons of Canadians down there every day.

And I bet Canadian long weekends account for a significant part of their tourist traffic.

:bowrofl:

Someone's mad

On a serious note, the childishness of the Americans who were posting on the original page really transcends what I would expect of any adult and it escalates on a spin-off page. Is this a single, especially arrogant, tough guy, or is this just the only person who has caught my attention with actual threats; should we be concerned about the safety of ourselves and our property when in Bellingham?

Welcome To Bellingham, Canadians! - We Appreciate You Hi Ian! Thanks for your input and thoughts here; I will share my personal view, which may resonate with some others on this page: Your profile has 2 friends, and you have a gentleman on a motorcycle who, in the picture, is attempting to look intimidating to a photographer. This leads to me suspect, at the very least, that you (the real you) may have created a fake profile, in order to join in various debates online, and/or perhaps leave unsavory comments to help you feel better through a cathartic release of some sort. I also suspect that if you need to make a fake profile in order to intimidate folks, there's also a good chance that you are not actually planning to key someones car in "real life" - however this is threatening something very serious and to my knowledge felonious if the extent of your damage is severe enough, so as a precaution I've taken screen shots of this thread to report to Facebook and the appropriate authorities, so that even if your profile is fake, your login information can still be tracked and used to identify you in your threatening remarks. Thank you for posting, if you have any more positive sentiments to add, we'd love to hear. Take care.

Man from BC seems to have filled up gas into garbage bags - News1130

Quote:

BELLINGHAM (NEWS1130) - There's unsafe, and then there's downright dangerous. Just south of the border, someone someone has taken saving money on gas to a new extreme.

It's something you don't see everyday and hopefully we don't again; a concerned parent in Bellingham snapped some photos of a man appearing to fill up black garbage bags with gasoline at a Fred Meyer fuel centre.

He's standing in front of a car with BC plates and it looks like there are several black garbage bags in the back of the vehicle.

A witness says gas station attendants were standing right beside the man but didn't do anything to stop him.

We've called the store. A manager insists they only allow gas cans to be filled up. A corporate spokesperson for Fred Meyer says they're not aware of the incident, but repeat their policy is to only fill up approved fuel containers

T&T sells Avalon milk. The big box shops don't, but probably quite a few smaller places do.

jerry cans cost what...$10 down there? they're so cheap...and they're reusable...

IMASA 08-17-2012 09:00 AM

can't really tell, but I really really hope there's a jerry can or at least some kind of container INSIDE the garbage bag.

dhari 08-17-2012 10:24 AM

wouldn't the gas destroy the garbage bag eventually? Looks like a container inside the bag to mask the fumes.

Gridlock 08-17-2012 10:36 AM

More like..."not gas, just taking my garbage for a drive"

OTG-ZR2 08-17-2012 10:38 AM

at least fill up your empty milk jugs from costco
