I'm not sure where you're getting that from, but it's wrong. You might be good from mid-March to mid-November if you have the right gear, but there's usually a week or two with a daytime high of -20 up here. you're also going to be getting blasted with a lot of gravel after it snows.

Dont get butt hurt over it.. It happens, I hate the Knowledge tests. Even back in the day when getting my L. I always failed them the first time, it's just stupid wording and such.

Good news is you now know half the answers to the test. Take the test again ASAP as the answers to the questions are still retained in your head. You will receive atleast 50% of the same questions again.

I said _typical_. A few days a month it gets down to like -10 and a few days a season it gets down to -20. A few days a year it might actually get to +10 too. But on _average_ the highs are a bit above freezing and the lows a bit below freezing.

I got my actual historic data from weather sites:

December 2014 weather:
Kelowna December Weather 2014 - AccuWeather Forecast for British Columbia Canada

January 2015 weather:
Kelowna January Weather 2015 - AccuWeather Forecast for British Columbia Canada

Feburary 2015 weather:
Kelowna February Weather 2015 - AccuWeather Forecast for British Columbia Canada

Let's go back a year to January 2014:
Kelowna Month Weather - AccuWeather Forecast for British Columbia Canada

On the note of gravel, they use gravel here? Ugh. I might have to park my car and take transit. My three year old Mazda 3 doesn't have a single rock chip to this day.

PS. Looking at your signature, are you part of Celicatech? Did you do the Run of the Ogopogo?

Not a lot of big gravel, but a fair bit of sand and junk gets thrown down when the idiots panic and slide around because somehow winter in Canada caught them off guard. You probaby won't get rock chips, but you'd be pretty covered in muck on a bike.

I'm not sure where they're measuring those temps but they don't look accurate, though this past winter was quite mild. Personally I'd just get a clear wrap done on the front of the car and the spray areas behind the wheels, but it all depends on your personal acceptance level for getting cold and wet. I'm sure it can be done I just wanted to make sure you knew it's possible to be at -20 for a week or get a metre of snow in a day like last January so you're not caught off guard.

And yes I'm on Celicatech although I haven't checked in for a while, I didn't do the Ogopogo this year as I was at a TSD the same weekend.

Sand is slightly better but not enough to make me reconsider this crazy idea. Not like I can afford a Can Am anytime soon anyway. I will definitely look at some clear wrap or that 3M spray on Paint Defender stuff for my car. I love driving in the snow, we haven't got a good dump in Vancouver since 2008-09 so I'm looking forward to it.

I only did the Run of the Ogopogo once, back in 2010. I was out of town this year but there was a Mazdaspeed 3 in the group so my Mazda 3 would've kinda fit in.

Even cheaper, and seems well maintained too:
2007 Honda CBR 125
lol at the "can reach 120km/h". You can, with a full race tuck and a slight tail wind. I know from experience. Luckily, Kelowna doesn't have any freeways.

I figure I could wait a couple of months for people to try to unload their rides as winter approaches.

Sure, but for an extra $300 I'd much rather buy the one I posted that hS 1/4 the amount of km on it

True. But I'd be cautious of a any gasoline vehicle that's hardly been driven vs. one that's been driven at a normal pace. At 6000 km, is the engine still on its original oil? How's the fuel tank and other parts that hold fluids, is it all rusted from the fuel and oil sitting around absorbing moisture? 6000km on a 7 year old bike is absurd, I put 6000km on a 49cc scooter in 5 months, from November til March. I put 3700km on my CBR 125R in just over two months. I rode my bikes anywhere and everywhere.

Don't get me wrong, that 6,000km bike might be a gem. But I'd rather have a bike that's been well loved, especially one that's recently had $500 in recent service.

I have an SMH10 which I really like but I would go for the 20S or 10C if I were to buy brand new. Both have Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio (I always streamed Z953 in my morning commute), etc. The 10C is expensive but the built in camera is worth it, and you can start a Youtube Motorcycling Vlog with it that's simple to use since you use your headset's mic which is crystal clear. I answered a phone call once at 90 km/h from a buddy who also rides and didn't believe me when I said I was riding on the highway. I think I had more trouble hearing him.

I'm using the 10C and it's great for my usage. Just did a day trip to Honeymoon Bay on the island and with the camera running just about the whole time we were riding, almost filled a 32gb card. It's nice to listen to radio stations or your own music via bluetooth and since the battery only lasts a couple of hours of straight recording, it can be plugged in and used at the same time.

My biggest complaint about it is that it comes with two attached ear speakers and I only like to use just one. Since they are hard wired together I'm not sure what would happen if I cut the wires on the one speaker. Then there's the worry about warranty if they say that the unit has now been modified.

I love my SMH10, but then again i'm cheap. I personally don't care about the AM/FM radio option as I rarely listen to the radio. The new 20s has better bluetooth and can hold a greater distance. I recommend getting whatever your friends have. Most of my buddies have SMH10's so I went with that.

Nope, I'm DKazzed there. The import topic seems too political for a topic I frankly don't care about (like, neither for nor against it) and I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole.
