Not me! Thanks guys.

So we settled privately. Anyone order anything from Partzilla? Seems like I can save $100 even after shipping and exchange rate. Shipping is via USPS/Canada Post so there should be no duties or taxes.

I'm moving away from Beacon. It was worth it with a newer bike but not an older one. I'll just add ICBC's fire and theft for now maybe full comprehensive until I'm eligible for BCAA coverage.

I can't believe an R3 costs that much to insure. That's close to kchan's 1199. Any discounts?

I'm maxed out on discounts on my car insurance. Not sure if that carries over to bike insurance as well.

And I was going to upgrade to a Ducati this year ..

It does for all motorcycles greater than 111cc. 110cc and less gets no discounts.

Have you looked at private optional? I currently pay for my Vino 125 (same rate class as your R3) $45 a month in Vancouver or $38 a month in Kelowna for basic with $1 mil extended liability through ICBC. That's with 43% discount.

Optional:

Beacon - $225 collision and comp, but they only valued my bike at $1000 minus $500 deductible = not worth it. To be fair though, I bought this coverage when I had the CBR 125R with a replacement value of $3360.

Megson Fitzpatrick - $161 collision and comp with $500 deductible or $188 with $250 deductible. Scooter and accessories valued at $1900.

BCAA - no quote yet, have to have had a Class 6 license for 12 months or more.

ICBC - was going to charge $600 for my CBR 125R.

how does one get bcaa discount?

i have their membership for their services

im only at 40% (not max yet)
beacon price is based on how much you put your bike is worth
icbc is just basic insurance since beacon covers the rest

whats the requirement to insure with Megson Fitzpatrick?

Not sure what the requirements are for Megson but I pay $37x a year for my Niner which seems reasonable. ICBC I usually do monthly I think it's like $85 p/month give or take 850cc.

Both my Husky and Grom are the same yearly with Beacon. So it must be a certain cc bracket for rates to change.

Husky 600cc @ $5000 - $225.00/yr
Grom 125cc @ $3000 - $225.00/yr

Grom is $4XX.00 w/ 1 Mill

Havent insured the Husky as I ride the Grom way more.. Theres something about smaller CC bikes for me that I just enjoy much more..

I'm going through this shit as well. Through ICBC all-in with 40% discount, $500 deductible + $1MM liability I'm paying $24xx yearly.

Megson has a really easy to use web-quote system: Request A Quote- Motorcycle & Scooter - Megson FitzPatrick - Megson FitzPatrick

$1k deductible, $42k bike value. Megson quoted me a lot less than ICBC. However they need the bike appraised if it's not inline with blue book values. Apparently they also price match if you plan on shopping around.

Will be getting quotes from Beacon/BCAA in the next few days.

So far dealing with Beacon is a lot better than Megson, at least for me.

Also Beacon is actually more easy going on if they will approve your insurance or not. (thats if you have had suspension or dui)

So I am a no go for either of them.

My yearly for ICBC fully insured is well over 5k+ a year... so I try to only insure during the best months =/ (and I have 40% discount -.-)
