Where is this CECE?

pastarocket 11-23-2012 10:34 PM

Simon told CeCe after her last performance that she's been in the bottom two many times. -really hoping that CeCe gets fried out the X Factor next week. Bye bye Ms. Frey.

I think she lost a lot of confidence from everyone publically saying how much they hate her. That and Demi telling her she needs to show "vulnerability" and their song choices since the live shows don't help.
Now she just looks like a screaming cry baby.

she actually has a few cover songs on youtube.

here is one:

The whole coaches thing is retarded. Clearly just trying to add a new element/dimension to the show similar to the Voice's "face off" (which I also think is retarded). What pisses me off more is how blatantly contrived it all seems. They have the coaches "arguing" over the most trivial things ever on the show and in talk shows and interviews they are always bashing on one another. It's like highschool drama class soap opera.

How is Vino doing so good? Carley's over the rainbow was amazing.

The pop-fan voters are divided between all the other contestants... while Tate is getting 100% of the country-fan voters.

Carly's obviously just a powerhouse.

I'm surprised Vino's beating Emblem3 though.

Other than that, everything else seems about right. Next 3 to go home I think are CeCe, Paige, and Diamond.

I still can't believe Paige is still in there. She's ALWAYS off pitch. But apparently something's putting her through.

CeCe was more interesting to watch when she was the bitchy brunette with the stupid leopard print.

Soundy 11-29-2012 07:12 PM

I do have to give CeCe credit, "Lady Marmalade" is much more her thing - sassy, sexy, upbeat... all those attempts to be deep and dramatic, or to wildly switch up some song, just don't suit her.

Not that she shouldn't be long gone anyway...

Ronin 11-29-2012 07:28 PM

Agree with LA...not her best but damn, still...

pastarocket 11-29-2012 08:12 PM

-am a bit surprised to see that one tenth of 1% of votes separated Tate Stevens and Carly Rose from the no. 1 spot this week. -wonder who's going to be out of the competition next week. Ce Ce? :troll:

Soundy 11-29-2012 08:30 PM

WHAT THE FUCK WILL IT TAKE TO GET RID OF CECE?!?!

I think most of us thought CeCe would be voted off the first week since everybody hated her and that stupid leopard print...but here we are, week 5...and she's still in it.

ahhh, that actually makes a lot of sense...I never thought about it like that.

gilly 11-30-2012 08:15 AM

Go Carly!

PJ 11-30-2012 10:49 AM

I'm a little surprised that Simon gave Vino the boot, especially after how much he's been praising him week after week.

CeCe has a strong voice, but she keeps pushing herself too much out of her comfort zone, making her voice very pitchy. She was way better before the live shows. The Christina song was more in her comfort range, that's why she sang it with so much more conviction.

FINALLY Paige is off the show. I mean she's a nice girl as a person.. but talent wise, she shouldn't have even made it into the live shows.

Diamond/CeCe/Fifth Harmony are next to go.

The top 3 are clearly untouchable. Carly, Tate, and Emblem3.

Emblem 3 will not make the top 2 cut, but I don't think it matters at this point. Simon's One Direction was booted off at 3rd place, and look at them now. Not to mention LA pretty much said point blank that he wants to sign them right here, right now.

Ronin 11-30-2012 12:04 PM

I can see Emblem 3 having the best commercial appeal of the three. Carly is amazing but she isn't quite as marketable since she's so young and her style is more classically trained than pop.

PJ 11-30-2012 02:10 PM

Yeah, I was talking to the girlfriend about it. If Carly were to release an album, what kind of songs would she have? I mean she has a huge, amazing voice, but it's not like she's going to release a soul album. When Britney gave her that Flo Rida song, that didn't work at all.
She's too young and innocent to be doing anything too edgy.

Similar deal was Rachel Crow from last year, if anyone remembers her.

There's not too much else you can do with a girl that's that young, with that voice.

I could see Carly having an Anne Murray-like career as she matures, rather than a flash-in-the-pan pop career - crossing genres and age groups.

Keep in mind most of Anne Murray's hits were written by someone else; she just brought them to life with one of the most incredible voices the world has ever heard. And a lot of them are nothing like the originals. "Snowbird", the song that basically launched her career, is a great example:

The original is... somewhat more depressing:

I know it's passe to say a new artist is the "the next" so-and-so, but Carly's got the look, personality, and especially *the voice* to potentially be the next Anne Murray... let's just hope The Music Industry doesn't ruin it all by trying to turn her into the next Justin Bieber and giving her all kinds of manufactured pop bullshit to puke out until she's trashed by the time she's 24.

Damn, now I think about it, I would love to hear Carly's take on Anne's version of "Snowbird".

They will. That is, if she wins. They're not gonna give her five million dollars and do nothing. In a sense, it might even be better for her if she doesn't win. Give her a bit of time to mature and find herself.

Come to think of it, of the top 3, she's the only one that doesn't really have her own identity. Tate and Emblem 3 are ready to hit the scene, like now. Carly still needs to find a sound to call her own.

Good points all around. Carly's biggest benefit in this may be her parents - from what we've seen of them so far, they're solidly grounded, supportive of her, but not pushing her. I get the impression they'll have a lot to say when it comes to whatever contracts she signs, and that it will be done with HER best interests 110% in mind, rather than their own. You can really see the kind of people they are, in the kind of person she is.

PJ 12-04-2012 07:09 AM

Yeah, her dad's a copywriter. So he'll probably have a grounded...er decision.

She's going to be successful one way or another. With her voice and her age, the only direction is up. Even if she makes a sub-par album, it'll still sell like hot cakes from all her fans/supporters. Worst case scenario, which is really doubtful she'll end up here - even if she leaves the music scene and goes back into musicals/broadway like she was originally from, she'll still make a killer living.

To reiterate, she's only 13!!!
