Is it really even considered a waterfall edge if it isn’t mitered?

donk. 07-03-2024 09:30 PM

Anyone else too poor, to even have thoughts, about a quartz "waterfall" countertop in their 1-2-3 million dollar home?

Badhobz 07-03-2024 09:48 PM

Da fuck is a waterfall edge ?!? Do I have one ?!

The terminology isn't my forte, but mitered matters less when there is less designs in the stone. Ie, if you use plain white quartz with no veins. If you use veins and want bookmatched ends, then miters are definitely the way to go to accentuate the design.

My GF loves the decor stuff but not to the level of kitsch. Just the odd and end to fill space so it doesn't look as void as an army barrack or as optical nerve shattering as a value village dry humping a Hallmark gift store.

Y'all are welcome for breakfast and / or dinner! With the extra space, she's taking her cooking more passionately!

Looks fine to me, some of us like the table look

It’s when your stone countertop continues down one or more sides. Mitered edge means there’s a seamless joint between the top & side and no lip/edge jutting out.

Looks cool, but no functional purpose.

Holy shit ! She’s Martha Stewart pre jail embezzlement.

Also extra points on using vision cookware. That glass shit my parents swear by it and it’s a staple of all immigrant life

One set of roasted potatoes in those things and they're burn stained for life

Stupid gewilo. Vision cookware not for cooking. Only for showing off to immigrants.

Hobz showing off how veiny it is.

I don’t even think it looks good. The wife likes it but for me I rather have a giant wood block. I much rather prefer the aesthetics of something like the picture above.

Her taste and mine are polar opposites. I rather have all wood shit everywhere with dark finishings.

PeanutButter 07-04-2024 07:53 AM

A waterfall edge is totally subjective, but I think it looks cleaner.

Damn, not only is yours veiny AF, yours is thick AF too. Yours is twice as thick as mine.. That looks like a 2" or maybe even 3"?

Badhobz 07-04-2024 08:05 AM

I’ll ask gurpreet next time how much that waterfall bullshit costed me when I yell at him for the shitty craftsmanship of my house

I just don't get why you'd try to save money halfway through doing something that's entirely optional. If it's not in your budget just do a standard counter.

Hondaracer 07-04-2024 09:59 AM

Buddy guys don’t have the saws to cut a mitre

GLOW 07-04-2024 10:23 AM

fuck that room looks like straight out of a wisers commercial

Hondaracer 07-04-2024 10:24 AM

It’s AI

radeonboy 07-04-2024 10:28 AM

I can't imagine Hobz actually living there - it looks like a place that's way too far away from Richmond / Asian cuisine
