Well... the idea was to make it a rental too for things like event/wedding so that it's at least self-sufficient without having to pour more money into it. |

^ Lone Butte... lol now that's the middle of bumfuck nowhere 2 hours to the closest Costco in Kamloops 1 hour 15 to the closest Walmart in Williams Lake 15 minutes to the closest Chinese Buffet?!?! Maybe its not so bad?! |
At that price you invite a friend or nanny to come along and get them to do the driving / errands |
Escept you still need 5 millions to build the house, and another 2 for the garage. |
^ had a great chat with a friend who moved from city to a 4 arce farm. Quite smart. 1) they looked at the house / showing WITH the owners still there. 2) they had actually a 2 hour walk thru which was cool to hear the history of the house / how taxes work etc 3) came back also to learn about the "stuff" - sunk pump, security system, coyote problems and how the panic room works etc. Now they have moved in, they are still in contact and they still call them up asking... dude.. what is this thing in the garage etc... |
Properties that are on septic or have overly complicated systems that are used to the old owner can be potentially time bombs just waiting to happen Especially wells and other things which are kind of unknowns. You get an old couple sell their home for use for a new families vacation property and all of sudden your well is running dry all the time. A lot to consider in situations like these |
^ I’m in contact with the previous owner too Hey manjeet why the fuck is this broken?!? Hey manjeet what the shit is this garbage you roughed into the electrical ?! Solar ?!? Why the fuck would I need solar ? Hello ? Hello ? Why don’t you pickup my calls anymore |
ahahhahaahaha yeah then you got these bastards why "please only call our realtor" gotta play your cards right. so we got this in our bathroom at our basement... didn't think much. https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/b/vent...-315743543.jpg until we realize it was a box covering a shut off valve for outside the house. and it had a towel to catch the dripping..... mother trucker... https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...skFaPWKx9PBg&s |
Jesus that looks likes an exhaust fan. I would have never guessed it covers shut off valves. |
That cover being a vent and not a typical access plate will help to keep the water line from freezing. Depending on how close the valve is from the outside wall, might be a good afterthought idea. |
Hey at least they put on a cover, some dumbass renter drywalled over the gas shutoff for the fireplace and just penciled "gas valve" onto the wall. |
In case of emergency… punch here |
i'm in a cookie cutter post van special home and both my hose bibbs don't have a shut off. i'm going to assume there is either none there or it's hidden behind drywall somewhere that no one knows :okay: |

Lone Butte is only 15 minutes away from a fields department store. As for hose bibbs under the building code. https://free.bcpublications.ca/civix...lding_B_P7_7.6 Quote:

Who wants to buy a castle in Victoria (Highlands)? https://www.rew.ca/properties/587618...e-highlands-bc https://assets-listings.rew.ca/listi...500&dpr=2&q=50 |
It needs more moat, and the ceiling in many of the rooms are jank |

for a true frost free, sure you don't need to worry about it as much but if there is an isolation valve it doesn't hurt to shut the water off then then the excess drain out. if you have the old school drain cock, then you absolutely need to shut the water off assuming there is an isolation valve to the hose bib, then pull the drain cap and let the water drain out, that's how they're winterized and keep from freezing and cracking the pipe |
