It really does sound like a flimsy excuse for something else. If you legitimately want to move into the place you're not taking that long to swap out some flooring beforehand.

Maybe if it was a house or town house. But if it was a condo how will they know? Fly a drone to your unit?

They'll see the trades in the elevator/lobby/hallways for one.

The link is unrelated to your scenario.
Someone else gave the tenant the form, not you.

As someone else said, put up your hydro and internet bill on day one. Should the ex tenant dispute it, you moved in on day one, and decided to do renos on day two, along with intent to live in there right away.

Most ex tenants will not come after you, unless they honestly think you / or your seller, is doing dirty stuff to increase rent.

In a recent article, 'Some up and coming neighbourhoods' ... I think I agree with one of the 7 ... Ladner/Delta.

https://www.biv.com/news/real-estate...remax-10871667

Bridgeport, Richmond:
Offers “strong” transit access and prices up to $300,000 lower than Steveston, according to Re/Max. Average house price: $1,069,900.

Ladner, South Delta: Buyers can save up to $1 million, if they are not deterred by traffic and construction work. Average house price: $1,149,100.

Mount Pleasant, Vancouver: Known for its “trendiness.” Average house price: $873,933.

Willoughby Heights, Langley:
Buyers can get more space at a lower price and have city access via Highway 1. Average house price: $894,516.

Fraser Mills, Coquitlam:
A “promising long-term investment” due to ongoing development and waterfront access, says Re/Max. Home prices range between $732,000 and $1,796,600.

Coquitlam West: A land assembly project converting industrial land into homes near SkyTrain with “early investment potential.” Home prices range between $838,071 and $1,963,039.

Capstan Way, Richmond: With ongoing revitalization attracting businesses and residents, northern downtown Richmond could “explode” in the next decade, says Re/Max. Average house price: $899,000.

Fraser Mills will just be another River District. Increased traffic, no schools, lots of bugs and water stink.

Maybe up-and-coming for their heartrate when they realize what a wasteful purchase that was.

More like Queensborough landing with one little bridge/bottleneck to cross to get out of the area.

Ha. I'm not sure that makes it just a little worse or a lot worse than River District. I vote for a lot worse; Fraser Mills never should have been approved as a development but this is the cowardice and stupidity of city planners and city council. They could have just up zoned existing residential lands instead to get the same amount of new housing (like how the province has forced them to do now though not quite far enough) but now they're taking up what should be industrial lands to build housing.

That gaudy place came up before I think. The exterior photo is at night so you don't notice it's just a box sitting on a cement lot. That grand entrance leading to just a couple random doors is hilarious though.

PSA if you live in Vancouver, Property Tax is due in the next couple of days. Hopefully, you've put it on your calendar as a reminder.

Same for Burnaby. H/t to those who recommended the CT Mastercard for paying property taxes.

CT bill payment had some sort of system failure a little over a week ago, right when I used them to pay my property tax bill. Thank god I checked on the City's end to see whether the payment has been received, cuz it turned out that CT just never processed that property tax bill payment right when I did it.

It was cutting it too close for comfort.
