That’s pretty funny because I’ve done a lot of personality tests due to work and got some of the highest EQ scores the tester had ever seen, I’ve got plenty of empathy… if you were bringing any critical thinking to your arguments / points of view I’d understand where you’re coming from but when you’re saying just because you have some negative interactions 3 billion people are pieces of shit, its indefensible.
I got hit head on in Richmond, my car was totalled, driver was a middle aged white guy. I laughed about it at the time that I managed to get fucked up by the only other white dude in Richmond… but that’s about it, it’s just random, he tried to sue me saying it was my fault too and accused me of being on driugs/impaired and that my car was faulty and he lost… but I don’t go through life thinking all middle aged white guys are cheating mofo aholes. I don’t know what you think is happening to you.
It’s like you think you’re being personally targeted and persecuted by an entire ethnic group? That’s a bit crazy.
I used to be scared of brown guys when I was younger too, barely ever saw them in Steveston side of Richmond and had a couple of negative interactions at sports events… and some good and bad coworkers… then met some really nice guys (like guys in this thread) and went to some weddings and shared some great experiences and then joined a hockey group where I was the only white guy and they’re awesome, there’s a few dicks in the group but I just don’t interact much with them … they have their own culture and way of talking and way of earning respect and I figured out how to coexist. Now some of those guys would drop whatever to come help me if I needed it or hook me up with stuff. If you just shut your door and don’t try and, likely, act aggressive or defensive whenever you see someone brown you’re only ever going to reinforce your previous experiences.
First off, I did not call every Indian a POS if you even bothered reading everything I have posted in the last few pages, you are drawing the conclusion yourself. 2nd, saying I lack critical thinking while you lack basic reading comprehension is kind of laughable. Like I said to hobz, I have to keep my guard up due to countless of negative past experiences, not 1 or 2 incidents you just cherry picked or the ones that you bothered to skimmed through. Did you read that I have had many Indian co-workers where the team had to pick up their slack? Do you know how many Indian clients I have dealt with? Do you know I had lived in a Indian dominant neighbourhood for most of my life? Do not undermine my experience because you don't know what I have been through, you are calling me out like I'm crazy and defending the bad ppl out of a ethnicity group that I have encountered, that's why you lack empathy.
This will be my last reply on this thread regarding this topic, I'm not wasting time and losing my IQ replying to trees who are pretending to be saints

I've observed that a lot of people are still lurking in the shadows and will post randomly should a topic trigger their attention. The userbase is still around, just not actively posting.

Some of this forum's mods like you are really tone deaf, indians can form gangs, do violent crimes, cause serious car accidents from reckless and negligent driving on a daily basis, these are all facts backed by news stories over the years, also look on fb and twitter to see how frequent police pull over and impound their cars due to excess speeding, but when someone makes a generalization about their group, that is considered racist? Lol what a joke and bruised world do some of y'all live in. When you and your family get affected by a particular ethnic group one day, you wouldn't defend them so much, get off your high horse

Man I KNOW. Theres no white gangs, white violent crimes, no car accidents from negligent driving by white people. Why can't they be like the whites that have never done any of those things!

Back on topic. My buyers couldn't close. Released their deposit on mutual termination of the contract (technically I could pursue for the deposit + damages if the house sells lower, but I took the risk to avoid litigation).
House has to go back on the market now... sigh.
At least our new home purchase wasn't dependent on funds from the sale on the old home. We were counting on some of the proceeds for renovations though which may have to go on HELOC or be pulled from our TFSA in the interim.
ALSO. Did you guys know the standard BC REA listing agreement stipulates the commission is earned when the firm contract is entered into, i.e. not when the purchase closes? I.E., legally you can be on the hook for commission on a deal that collapses. My realtor's a good guy and said no realtor worth their salt would pursue this given their business is so reputation-driven, but it's there in the contract. My lawyer made me get waivers from the agents before agreeing to the mutual termination.
